Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is the Hagerstown site closing?

We are down to one building now, it seems like it is just a matter of time.
Was wondering if anyone has heard anything.

All sites except for the five specified will be closing. It might be a couple years until they can get around to closing your office.

Some employees at the Hagerstown site still do not have their own designated work space.

Leadership informed us that we would have our own desks again by the end of summer…

Essentially - we have to go find a functioning seat in the call center half of their time on-site. It drastically impacts work productivity and morale.

End of summer is soon approaching with no sign of improvement.

The site in hagerstown is considered a secondary site. There is no immediate plan to shut down the site however the leadership has also been instructed that new or replacement jobs will be hired in primary sites like BH. The site will be target for closure once building usage drops to 50%, usage currently is a little over 70% of the one building. It should be about 2-3 years from now unless a large team gets relocated or moves remote. This was shared at the last site leaders meeting.

Top-down, soviet-style leadership doesn't care about things like experience... you see it as a strength, they view it as an obstacle. They would rather have a gaggle of submissive new grads & Indian contractors then someone who might question if their commands make sense. We know how that ends but it takes a long time. I plan on being long gone by then.

@2wgn+1ofzW8iQ not sure what you're on about, but I can tell you in my section of cubes alone there's over 100 years of collective experience.

I don't like the place, but don't downplay the many talented individuals that have the displeasure of working there.

@2ldb+1ofzW8iQ

There's plenty of engineers in BH, from all departments. There's also a very large development presence... not sure where you heard any of that, but you're clearly misinformed.

That’s what I e is red to hear. There’s no one in BH that makes thing work. No data center, no server farm, no mainframe, no coders, no network engineers. It’s impossible to run the various platforms that make up the guts of what Fiserv does in BH.

There's not a data center in BH. The last this Fiserv needs is more data centers.

Cube farm without walls or noise remediation.

What’s in BH? Is there a data center? Or is it all a cube farm? I suspect the latter. No location that runs systems our clients use can simply close without the systems running elsewhere and I’ve not heard BH in that mix:

I have not heard of Hagerstown site closing. I am local to the area and a prior employee.

I can confirm that the Hagerstown site is down to one building, does not offer new upward mobility opportunities, and uses the Coral Springs office as a “back-up” site with trained associates in case the Hagerstown site “were to go down”…

You're only 3 1/2 hrs from Berkeley Heights. Enjoy the trip.
