Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

DEI to the rescue. SunTruist to be saved!

Obviously it’s more important to add more diversity executives than hire a new CFO. She will soothe all your troubled “Teammate” souls. So who knew we had a Chief Teammate Officer?

Truist Financial Corporation (NYSE: TFC) today announced that Dominica Groom Williams will join the company as head of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), effective today.

Groom Williams will be responsible for leading bank-wide strategic inclusion and diversity initiatives, reporting to Chief Teammate Officer and Head of Enterprise Diversity Kimberly Moore-Wright.

"Embracing diversity, equity and inclusion is fundamental to what we stand for at Truist and one of the ways we bring our purpose to life," said Moore-Wright. "I'm excited to have Dominica join our team and build upon the strong progress we've made while continuing to pursue meaningful change for our teammates, clients and communities."

@2inm+1hUdYctB, Metrics have nothing to do with bonus or RSUs. The numbers are picked first then reverse engineered to the review. They can do whatever they want up to their pool and the pool at the top is as close to unlimited as it gets.

If she thinks she’s going to break up the “good old boy club” she will find out what exclusion is. What are the metrics for bonus and rsu’s for this kind of job?

Anyone who works/has worked at Truist and is still a shareholder after what they have personally witnessed…has a much bigger risk tolerance than I do!

As a past employee and current shareholder. I am more concerned with how much green you make me than your color or gender.

Imagine being hired to be chief diversity officer only because you are black and not because of any other qualification. LOL

I fully believe Truist needs to improve diversity. We should be actively seeking to provide opportunities and creating a welcoming environment to people of all genders, races, religions and creeds.

What angers me is the obvious insincerity of these types of moves by Truist. If it truly mattered and the Board wanted to pay anything but lip-service to diversity, they would replace someone in one of the top two visionary & strategic leadership roles (Bill or Beau) with a minority candidate. But no, those roles seem to be primarily reserved for white male and females of the Atlanta country club circuit.

My opinion is that this is about creating another “Truist Cares” PowerPoint slide. Bill, Beau and Co. can trumpet their moral superiority without any personal sacrifices (sacrifice is for the little people), and have a new slide to redirect any analyst questions about poor financial performance, poor customer service and massive employee dissatisfaction.

It's BS, no worth to this position, after I completed diversity training all the SVPs after class would crack pathetic racist and se-ual identity jokes. Why they think we care about positions with no bearing on the outcome of a once ok now toxic bank.

There is a difference between real, deep diversity and woke diversity. The real one is sometimes beneficial (Mardi Gras comes to mind), sometimes not (a philharmonic orchestra or a nuclear plant, where accurate execution is crucial), but the woke one will definitely get any company in trouble - problem is that stupidity or s3xual degeneracy are also hailed as diversity traits.

Just imagine, for an essentially useless job, she will be one of the highest paid people in the company. All because left-wingers can't handle reality, and have to try to browbeat everyone into submission every single day.
What an age we live in.

They just want to appear to check all of the boxes that the liberal media expects. They don't really care about people.
