Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why don’t people

use the time they spend here to look for a job already. Why k–ling yourself with worries about something you can’t control and yet not doing the thing you can? Those who want to get laid off you should stop working then you will get your wishes. Just don’t come back here later and cry

@2ibe+17GWtKbU I've already accepted and plan to start after Thanksgiving. I told them I needed to do the right thing and close out projects for WF. Great excuse and I look like a great employee, even though I'm leaving. I'm hoping to get let go before then.

@2yge. Me too. I got multiple insanely great offers but I am holding out too. How long do you plan to hold out?

@2dny+17GWtKbU I'm @fch+17GWtKbU, and I'm not worried. I already accepted another job for more pay and a signing bonus. I'm holding out for a severance package. People like you are paid to pump the sunshine. The rest of us live in the real world. Here's hoping you find yourself taking advantage of the 50 millions meals WF provides through feed America. Your Meetings and Events job may actually help you then.

“ @OP- don't you have other corporate communications that you need to put out today? What are you doing on here? Get back to work.”

“ Wow, OP what a supportive, non-judgemental and empathetic post! Dude, seriously work on the your personal issues and gIve up these posts projecting the huge A– Hat attitude.”

OP here... with your attitudes I understand why you’re worried. Have you tried being nice and cheerful at work and channel the negative energy to a job search? At Meetings and Events you could never cut it with a bad attitude... we have to always be on. Try it I bet things change.

Or YOU could simply just not come to this website where the purpose for it is to discuss layoffs. It's really a no brainer.

I am looking and that cluster Town Hall sealed the deal. But why should I quit - I am PRAYING I get laid off and get my lovely severance.

The obvious direct answer to your question is that getting laid off is accompanied with severance pay. Quitting during a difficult time to find work does not. Is that really so hard for you to figure out?

Job hunting isn't like the old days where you endlessly sifted through all kinds of newspapers, etc.

Nor is it like the early days of the internet where you would manually and endlessly search.

Nowadays, apps provide alerts for new postings, recruiters are looking for you, etc. Job hunting is not the full-time job it used to be. Maybe the first week or two of being laid off, but after that, you're just looking at brand new job postings.

Also, this board DOES provide (some) reliably accurate information that Wells is choosing to withhold. It's pathetic that we have to get valuable information this way, but that's entirely on Wells.

This board also allows people to blow off steam and commiserate.

The real question is, why do YOU keep coming back to read this site if you bothers you so much? And/or, what do you think this site's purpose should instead be?

What makes you think they are not? Many people here have said they are looking.
