Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

First day back today. Five people total in my neighborhood and the one next to me. Has capacity for at least 60.

Most of my personal items were sent back to me (long story); however, they arrived quite damaged due to gross negligence in packing. It took me months, but rest assured there is a claims process. Long and painful but a process nonetheless. Eventually they paid me for all the damaged items. Thankfully, they did not dispute any of the values that I placed on the items. Their lack of care and lack of organization may cost them quite a bit! It sounds they haven’t learned anything as illustrated by their most recent packing and labeling of boxes!

I went in on Friday and tried to retrieve my belongings. The boxes were scattered all over the place with just your employee id on them if you had been moved to a different building. I searched and searched for hours on the floor that I was told I would find my boxes. I went over the floor 3-4 times and a man that I used to work with even helped me to double-check everything. Then, I was told by someone who had already found their boxes that my boxes could be found on two other floors. So, I went to the other two floors and found absolutely nothing. I even went into the office on Saturday to do another scan to no avail.

The way Service West and WF have handled the packing up of your belongings and any move that was necessary is outrageously incompetent and careless. I saw boxes opened and just sitting there. I saw boxes that had the employee id scratched out with another employee id penciled in. I saw boxes that had sticky notes on them saying that this wasn't their box, but it had these items in it. Boxes were stacked against the wall to the ceiling, in conferences rooms, anywhere that they could toss the boxes. There was no rhyme or reason to where the boxes have been "thrown". And I wasn't able to locate my floor coordinator! Maybe she was in a box on a different floor.

How hard is it to pack up boxes, label them correctly, and organize their placement on an employee's floor so they can easily be located? This company is sick.

And no one was in the office except for a handful of people. So much for we are better together.

I went in Monday for an hour and there were 5 people in my neighborhood. Thursday I was in for 4 hours and there were about 10 people in. No one is wearing the scarlet letter. Everyone is saying testing is stupid and pointless. Hopefully testing ends soon. Normal would make RTO much less awful.

I worked in the office on Friday. Almost no one there. Good day to go if you want to be left alone (at least for now). I was able to sit at the same desk all week. I’ve realized that I may have to change to a different desk since it seems like I’m in the middle of a “team”. It felt a bit awkward. My co-worker will be coming on different days than me for the most part.

Some brief observations here. There was a first day of school feeling this week. Since I am in an unassigned seating area the cube farm was very sterile and kind of depressing. Had a few in person chats that were okay. Actual work I was probably at 80% efficiency compared to home. Lots of adjusting/cleaning of workstation, moving to a quiet space, getting back to cube, etc. My team is all over so mainly on video anyway. One thing I never realized is how draining just being in an office is until I came back into it. Maybe for extroverts it’s different. Overall I thought it wasn’t awful but not helpful.

My floor was ~ 20% on Wednesday. I didn’t go back yesterday or today.

About the same here too.

No one wants to be the only one adhering to RTO (or any other unpopular policy). As such, Wells needs to decide how to handle this...

Wells can either save face and lighten up the RTO policy, or start firing people.

If Wells does neither, then people will do as they please, and senior management will look even more inept than that already do.
