Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Maybe they should hear our opinion sometimes

Of course, that will never happen, because they generally have a very bad opinion of employees. But how many stupid mistakes and wrong decisions, which harmed the company, could have been avoided if only they sometimes took into consideration opinion of their employees?

It takes a coordinated effort but tanking the pulse surveys is the only thing they care about because it's directly tied to VP and SVP bonuses. Ya your DM may kick and scream at you, just tank the 1-5 ratings and don't type anything or admit anything.

The surveys are anonymous but if you type specific complaints that's how they figure out who you are. There's only a few people and they can figure out who's the loudest about xyz during the year is probably the person who complained on pulse.

That’s why the pulse survey is so important. ESPECIALLY the comment section. Don’t even answer the question, just talk about what YOU want to talk about. CHANGE the conversation,

You want them to listen? Reminds me of people complaining they didnt get enough feedback in a timely manner at work. Their solution was here fo a mid year ok yourself and there is your feedback more often.

Anything they listen to they will twist to make it a punishment.

I'd be willing to bet that metrics would improve if employees were happier to come to work.

@2evv+1hvLA8jS Verizon corporate stores are losing money. Metrics are far below pre covid times. I guess corporate retail stores are just considered a loss leader at this point.

They don't want to invest in fixable challenges. Thats why everything is outsourced now. They just want to make sure the shareholders are making money. And our ceo is making money.

There was a time it was a decent place to work. Some have hung in there since the major comp changes. It’s not even about the money anymore it’s about our health. There are so many fixable challenges within retail stores but Verizon would rather people just get stressed out.

My coworkers always thought I was crazy for commenting negatively on those vzweb articles. My DM called me and asked if I’m feeling ok. Nothing will change if you just fall in line and let them fu-k you over. Now I’m feeling more than ok. I fu----g quit and it felt fan-fu----g-tastic! Fu-k you Hans and Krista for ruining a great paying, fun job.

Oh they get the opinions of employees on a daily basis. Managers and DM’s hear compliant issues all the time. Guess what the problem is though ? They are too afraid to funnel up feedback they get in the store locations. Also nobody wants to be that guy or gal known as being a complainer. The fear is ridiculous.

There are three sources Verizon leadership pays attention to. 1. Pulse surveys ( unfortunately not accurate because most employees feel they are not anonymous so most that take them aren’t truthful) 2. The comments left under articles Verizon has on the home page. There are some gutsy employees on there and kudos to them. 3. Here on the lay-off board. This message board by far can you give a true pulse of how employees are feeling in the retail stores. It’s scary accurate.
