While the company is talking about increasing days in office..is everyone hearing 8 days a month/2x per week? What does this means for those of us accustomed to fewer days in office?

How do you guys get to work from home when I have to go to work at the New York Ranger game. This is unfair!
@owlx+1sueKIQB it would not be monitored YET
I was literally told it would not be monitored. Do what you will with that info.
Well that is a handy measure no one on my team got approved so I guess we aren’t good employees? Go team!
ask your manager or director to reclassify you as home-based. Our whole department was just approved. Don't believe the doomsayers on these threads. They are willing to reclassify good employees.
@gjbe+1sueKIQB Your team is likely on the soon to be RIFed list so there is no need to RTO
Don't believe the doomsayers. My Home-Based reclassification request was just approved. Everyone in our department our ED put in for was approved. They aren't being as tight-assed about this as comments on this page make it appear. They just need to justify paying rent on offices that have been half-empty for the past 4 years.
Get back to work!
Lol! Last comment was def Hans
@2cfy+1sueKIQB
VZ doesn’t care about individuals unless you are a one in a billion unicorn and mpst managers don’t have any pull to keep people eith anything less.
If people don’t come back they’ll spread the work among the existing team or outsource/offshore it.
Pre-Covid our group of 16 only had 5 people that went in the office regularly. The other 11 were rarely there. Will be a big shock for them if they start tracking badge swipes and actually doing something about it. I also suspect it's going to impact team members that had a second job during this time.
How about while your at work hans is on his couch getting brains from andy on company time but you look other way smh cowards
Have been working from home since 2012. Will continue to do so.
@2cfy+1sueKIQB As sad as this sounds, HR expected prior to making the announcement that people would start asking to be reclassified to WFH as a response to the new policy. HR also knows that we are in a higher supply / Low demand job market so there is no need to be grant any type of accommodation
@2kxl+1sueKIQB why don't you just ask your boss to reclassify you as home-based? If your skills are needed, they will make it happen. If not, unfortunately, you really don't have any recourse.
I'm being forced to find a new job. When Covid hit, they closed my shop temporarily and said my hybrid office was in Basking Ridge. I'm in upstate New York. That's a half day drive away. I did not move, they just decided to make the office I had for five years vacant and I was assured this wouldn't impact anything. Guess what, I have no choice now. Buy a second home near Basking Ridge, move to Basking Ridge, quit, or get fired. How can this be legal?
Feel bad for management tools they make you do whatever then toss (RIF )you to the curb quarterly.
What a d-mb question! … “How long do we have to be there, can we badge in and go home?”
We had a call reviewing lotsnof qhestions some of them were.
If you take vacation do you have to make up office days? Maybe. Taking just that day off yes taking a week off probably not.
Can you front load days? No they must be 2 a week. Probably will hurt those really far away who were going to travel and stay locall for 8 work days or two stretches of four. .
How long do we have to be there, can we badge in and go home? All day in the office.
All comments were unofficial and subject to change at any moment just like everything about this.
It means you go in 8 or more times a month now. Minimum of 8 and maximum of whatever your boss tells you to do. If you don’t like it you show them by quitting to stand up for all the people that are afraid to. You can become the hero no one asked for.
