Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Unofficially

Can’t say from who, or where this was heard, but amount of RIF they’re looking at, across the board, in all positions in scope is 20%, but there are mitigating factors with regionalization and licenses, but look for 15-20%

They wont give us a total so that generally means it's pretty high.

@2anh+1cQCFHsB your source couldn’t be more wrong. SNP is growing at an incredible pace.

Why do you think SNP is next? I always thought they were a safer space

SNP is not safe either. Hearing they will be next on the list.

I’m thankful that my choice to opt out was respected. I thought it would be with this place one is never certain. Good luck to those remaining. Now to wait for the end date. Hope we get releases earlier than the beginning of 2021.

Confirming they wanted to opt out, does that mean they’ll be gone? I thought you could opt out and not be chosen for it

I heard that those that opted out got notice from HR today of their acceptance of exit package. No end date just confirmation of acceptance to opt out. I was expecting this mid Oct.

20 percent is a very low estimate.

To the poster who made the comment about maff…..the RIF a few years ago made the papers, and that was 1300, I think. There are many departments that encompass the roles in scope. I don’t think the low single digit you are looking for to have the poster gain your confidence is realistic, and there could be credibility given what’s happened with RIFs in the past. One of the few departments not being impacted is SNP….hopefully, there will be more openings there for us to go into.

It’s the amount of members in the region, too…so you could have 30 teams in one region….and you forgot behavioral health on the teams

ECOM Model = regional teams managing members. I’m hearing each team would have 7-10 nurses, 1-2 social workers, and a Pharmacist and Dietician that float among regional teams. How many regions can there be? This may shed some light on the number of people that will be impacted.

i think it will be way more........... there are SOOOOO many HCMs across the board/ united states and I take it to mean that they are significantly reducing the telephonic program, so not trying to be sh---y, but I worked in HAH for 6 years and went through MANY layoffs prior to moving to another area of Humana, and our jobs were always at risk, every single year, so this really should not come as any surprise, this has been coming for years!!!

Previously Humana did a RIF of 100% of a role. Nothing is off the table. Speculation is usually inaccurate and very frustrating for those waiting. Don't believe gossip about numbers. Humana don't discuss this with low level managers. Any high level manager would not risk their credibility or position by engaging in gossip. "in the scope of 20%" So what does that mean? 10% - 30%. This is meaningless.

I am not sure how that number is unbelievable. From the meetings, I, certainly, got the feeling that it would be a large percentage of nurses, social workers, coaches, ADs that will be laid off. I was expecting more like 50% or more.

Dude, officially, that is an insane number for a layoff. Just think about it, do the math and come back with something between low single number digits if you want any credibility. Maff is hard, I know.
