I received 26 weeks of "severance pay" and also an additional "enhanced severance pay".
I realize that I won't be eligible for unemployment for the 26 weeks duration of my severance pay but does the enhanced severance pay extend my unemployment ineligibility further?

It's been checked on. Simply because you received a large "package" does not mean you are not eligible for unemployment benefits until your funds run out. You can apply within a week of getting laid off. You will not start receiving payments until 2 to 3 weeks later, but you will get a check. What I would suggest at this time is to upgrade your skills and then look for another position. Preferably for better pay and benefits.
These are usually lump severances. And also they’re taxed at 40% because it’s not really regular pay. You should be able to collect unemployment even with this severance. And then you’ll go on to something better than this dumpster fire. :)
You are not receiving monthly severance pay. You will receive a lump sum. It should not affect your unemployment benefits. You should check out your state unemployment benefits rules as it relates to lump sum severance. In my state it has no effect on qualifying for unemployment. You can start collecting benefits one week from termination date.
@1frx+1lwLntC4 Frankie is all about equity: the equity in his bank and stock accounts, that is.
@1zbd+1lwLntC4 aka Shilly Yes I am thankful to receive 26 weeks enhanced severance however let's be real prior to the First Data/KKR hostile takeover 26 weeks was FIserv policy for employees with 20+ years. Put in perspective many of these startups laying off people did not even exist 5 or 10 years ago. Without keeping the severance policies employees would have rushed out the door 2 years ago leaving Frank with a mess he was not yet prepared to spin.
"Texas law prohibits individuals from qualifying for unemployment benefits while receiving certain types of severance pay."

Fiserv has a post on Linkedin - supporting equity. LOL like FB believes in that.
In NJ you are eligible for unemployment regardless of how much severance you get
Usually severance packages based on years of service are not considered continued employment, and you can collect unemployment at the same time. This is certainly the case in New Jersey. This is an easy google for NJ.
Clover layoff?
Depends on your state.
Fiserv benefits continuation, severance pay and one year of stock vestings and outplacement is very generous. I know companies in our industry offering a MAX of 4 wks.
What level were you and how many years to get this level of severance?
In some states one is eligible to collect unemployment even with a generous (26 weeks) severance package. I believe the Fiserv severance packages are viewed as a settlement to prevent future claims against the firm, rather than continued pay. Definitely investigate.
