OP here. I'm saying I was overpaid at Nike for doing nothing or minimal work. which in turn is why I got laid off. it's a statement in how NIKE runs its business poorly.
@1ypl+1ttKt2AY You sounds a bit jealous of me still having a high paid job! Were you fired? Yes my job is actually market research and presenting ideas to the higher managers. Now go F yourself and cry!
@1ypl+1ttKt2AY You are a clueless person who loves to run his or her big mouse! No wonder Nike is going downhill because of id--ts like you who wake up every day to bark and bully.... You sounds like an old lady who is divorced.... Fu-k off
@ils+1ttKt2AY is your job to actually present ideas to your manager? I assume you were hired for a purpose, and I'd bet that "presenting ideas" wasn't the primary job you were assigned to do. Take a look in the mirror - sounds like you're the problem. Good people were laid off and you stuck around, which also sounds like your manager is the problem
Funny, the slackers are typically the ones who stay. It’s the real workers fired.
Nike just wants yes people and always will. Look at all those with 20+ yr careers - robots.
And yet I work like a dog and get paid 97k and receive the side eye if I do not show up on campus 4 days a week.
LEVEL 40 employee here. I get paid 170k and I do nothing! Sometimes I swipe my badge but I go hang out in another building like Serena which is a nicer design... Not that I do not want to do anything but because any idea I present to my managers and VPs are being ignored.mm So what is the point of working? I am surprised I am still here.
If Nike had a reliable way to track what type of and how much work employees actually do, I’m convinced at least 20% of the company would either be laid off, moved to part-time status, or have their salary massively reduced. That estimate might be generous, too. During my time at Nike I’ve had two managers who literally - LITERALLY- did almost nothing. One of those people was pulling in $400K+ for doing nothing too.
Nike seriously needs to better monitor and measure how much value each employee adds. It’s possible with today’s tech. Nike just needs to be brave enough to employ that tech.
