I am a programmer for VZW, and I was also short listed out of already small team we have despite our application making money for the company. My manager told me this is indeed part of RIF, and there was nothing they could have done as it came directly from VP.

@2ors+1dwc4a3x i don't know what fake news you are referring to, but there was a sizable RIF impacting VBG, GNT and Corporate on 10/28. Just because you do not know anyone in those organizations, does not mean it did not happen. These people are hurting. Be nice and stop the name calling. It's childish.

This is the same RIF time frame as it was six years ago. Off the books by 12/31.

The company must love this week.

@1xjb+1dwc4a3x they only last as long as the severance period, which for a std RIF is a MAX of 35 weeks. The VSP was capped at 60 weeks, that's why you saw people getting over a year of benefits then.

In regards to those packages what about medical benefits ? I thought those always lasted about a year after employment ends ?

Scroll through this page // people constantly predicting this // there generally is only a major rif every year or two // broken clock prediction. // Most of the time, like 51 of 52 weekly predictions it is BS. // They likely aren't going to make any moves until after vaccine issue resolves as that may roll a few percent off the books. // If anyone is gone tomorrow it will be people posting racist Qanon stuff all over vweb news articles. // Also media spin off getting a lot of people off the books without rif, going to new company. //

There will be a RIF on 10/28. Whether you are impacted or not depends on the organization you are in.

Well be losing people to the vaccine mandate. I seriously doubt there would be a layoff till they see how that shakes out.

Yeah and I heard your job is first homie.

Seriously though you won’t know about layoffs until people are literally getting calls telling them about their position being eliminated.
