That is the number of retail Verizon locations in the US as of April 5, 2022. Authorized and corporate stores.....but......retail is dead lol. That is a staggering number of stores. Imagine if retail wasn’t dead ?

A store that doesnt have Verizon employees is no more part of Verizon Retail than best buy, costco, or some website.
Tracfone doesnt have retail and neither will we.

@1xhu+1gaYctFq Most of those corporate locations were converted to indirects. The number of retail locations still stands. Who cares if they are corporate or not a store is still a store.

It’s doesn’t matter if they convert the remaining corporate stores to indirect. It seems as though the OP’s point is that there is still over 6K brick and mortar retail stores in this country.

End of Retail?? You decide..

….and now a series of unrelated facts...

“Authorized Retailer” and “Premium Retailer” signs have been removed from those stores. (By design to convince the consumer that they are dealing with Verizon)

Your DM now has supervisory role over the “Retailer” stores. This is part of the plan so consumers will have the “Same” experience in both “Company” and “Non Company” stores. How can they do this? Not by bringing the “retailers” to “company” store level support, rather they are bringing the company stored down to their level. (here is a number to call for this and another to call for that).

Company stores have been reduced to “selling” credit cards with the end goal to be get “Verizon” out of the “finance business” for phones. (put it on the Verizon card for some interest free or other offer). This will also eliminate the need for CORE /PACT for credit reasons and all customers will be approved for service as they are with prepaid.

The “Visible” experiment has been quite successful. They do not finance phones and are able to sell services for half the price of Verizon.

Verizon and its stockholders have little or no care about the “Jitterbug” crew and ONLY care about the bottom line. Elimination of the company owned retail locations cuts out at least 3 billion in costs

Only 1600 of that number are corporate and declining. More and more corporate will close or flip to indirect. It’s much much cheaper for Verizon to let indirect sell their phones/service and take care of customers that want to go to a brick and mortar. No one under the age of 50 is going to a brick and mortar to buy a phone plan
