I was scolded this week for notifying faculty and staff that my associate and I have had our positions eliminated after May 1st. I gave them contact information for our RM and told them if they have any issues, that is who they should contact. The store is not going to have a SM, GM, CM. They will have team leads running that store. Our team leads do shipping/receiving, soda, register and GM. They can't fix time cards, submit payroll, log a schedule into Kronos. Nothing! They have basic knowledge of text and can barely figure out how to check in rentals and complete a buyback without screwing up. Don't get me started on graduation gown distribution. How many schools have their contracts expiring next year? Is this the hill you want to die on JRC? Good luck everyone!

I told my campus contact what was happening. My store will have other store's staff running it until they can hire a staff. My entire store left. Already hearing horror stories of May payroll..

@1woa+1mkBmuWe: How can stores train new Team Leads if they can't be scheduled for training? EXPLAIN THAT KNOW IT ALL!! The fools at HO didn't even give stores a training budget for April so all the newbies would know how to do something other than run a register. I told my staff... do Soda, run the register, take care of graduates. Direct all textbook/bookstore questions/issues to the RM.

The schools were only notified that “something better was coming along” and it was spun as the restructuring changes will make it “better”. I got this information from my campus. They absolutely were not notified of what exactly is happening so they are likely being shielded from any information.
Wondering who did the scolding? My thought was that the school was notified weeks ago about the shakeup.
The schools should be notified as this effects them especially now at graduation time and rental check ins. This company is unbelievable.
