CDA has been a huge mess! JD was very transparent early on but now that his mission is spiraling out of control he is MIA - not to mention his last all company meeting was a DISASTER. This guy needs to go because he is driving this ship into oblivion. Please MP come back to save us from this dumpster fire!!

MP is the reason for CDA. Wonderful developer but a terrible CEO. He trusted the wrong people.
JD was installed to execute this CDA disaster, get the stock up and chop heads. He won't be at the helm very long. A Nike lifer will replace him soon and will play the "good cop" after JD did the dirty work that the board wanted him to do. Nike is no different than working for JP Morgan, IBM or Ford. They just hypnotize you with cool sizzle reels of athletes, the discount and a casual dress code. It's one of the most passive aggressive, boy's club, UNinclusive corporations you can work for. Lastly, don't ever trust HR. They are there to protect the company, not the employee. (that's not just Nike obviously)
I am concerned that all-hands meetings are now about D&I, which is a good thing, with a bit of fanboy thrown in - but there is less and less execution and business strategy being communicated.
Only - "this is what you asked for, make it easier to get work done". But it is getting exponentially HARDER to get anything done.
Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Mark did what PHK directed him too, the Swoosh Trust still rules, get this company to 50 Billion, anyway, using or saying anything, that you have too, to do it.
The stock appreciation and global sales increases accomplished, are close to the best in the FT 500. Look at the increase in PHK and Family wealth, well done Mark, you deserve every dollar you got.
The only difference here, is that most of the rest of the FT 500, if not all of them, never purported to have this supposed special culture, special cool, special authenticity of the best athletes.
Nike did have that, it was something, but it was not something that caused the stock and the company to get that following on the street. Parker was against the Kap commercial, PHK pushed it through, as he stated to multiple media outlets, said it was something LeBron said about his son being pulled over and k–led in LA on a traffic stop. Right.
JD was brought into to just fire as much overhead as he could justify, luckily for NIKE, DTC has arrived, and all the BS that the company manifested, for the retail coolness channel is now over.
JD is decently wealthy, already, Wife has a good paying Deep State job down at Stanford, whoever is the turn around CEO at Nike, they can now do so without blood on their hands, pretty common McKinsey nonsense really.
Amazon rules the world, COVID has changed the perception of what matters, hint...it is not your sneakers or movies...or Pro sports.
Kapernick got a Movie deal, and now a SPAC, clearly a Brother that is down with the struggle, Brady just proved that a great Quarterback is not afraid of his age....come on Kap...Patriots need a QB.
Parker is Chairman for the next ten years, he will not let this vine shrivel.
@1wjt you are partially correct partially delusional. MP didn’t have the “gumption” to get us passed the neutrality we were in. However JD came in with guns a blazin’ but he has done a quick fizzle and now he’s rarely seen or heard. Maybe MP isn’t the be all end all option but JD sure as hell isn’t the savior.
Are you kidding me? Parker is the reason it's this way now. And yes, I can utter his name since it's common knowledge he was Nikes' CEO. And, yes, this is an opinion. He did not (or could not) handle the culture and we saw some pretty huge blunders that make Nike look really bad. The answer just seemed to be trying to make $200 sneakers a thing and saving anything actually interesting for "sneakerheads" to hoard.
