It's eye-opening to see EH return to Nike after retirement, especially considering his previous tenure was clouded by a series of troubling issues. Under his leadership, Nike faced multiple lawsuits and allegations related to s-xual harassment, gender and racial inequality, and pay discrimination—situations that painted a vivid picture of the "good old boys" culture. These weren’t isolated incidents but rather a pattern that reflected deep-rooted issues within the leadership structure. The return of EH feels like a reminder that unresolved matters don’t simply disappear; they eventually come full circle. As the saying goes, "Chickens come home to roost." Could this be the case once again for Nike?

@1vte+1uBXI6Ct this is what is wrong with America. Continually putting people in boxes- why can't we all just be friends and stop hating on each other based on gender, where one comes from or their beliefs. Sheesh! EH is a good guy who loves the brand and wants to bring back the love consumers once had for it. Hopefully one day you will regret what you wrote and understand that it isn't about all those things in life it is about the person and their heart. Sounds like you are unhappy with yourself if you are that judgey about others.
Funny how people who oppose movements that intentionally give preferential treatment based on gender, race, or ethnicity, are quickly dismissed as being misogynistic or racist. The irony…
Racism and s-xism are alive and well on this site. Shocking …
Trollers gonna troll …
Frankly I don't care he is white, Texan, Christian, whatever. I also didn't see and don't really care about whatever issues people were having. All I care about is that the company was thriving under his leadership, there were no layoffs, most everyone around me was excited to show up and PSP targets were exceeded every year. That's what's important to me. Everything else is a distraction and whining from people who make careers out of being victims. Go ahead, bring on the downvotes! I don't care.
I'm so tired of this constant focus on race and gender. Yeah, EH wasn’t perfect, and there were definitely things he could've done better to prevent an environment where harassment happened. But I also think he and a lot of others have learned from everything that’s gone down in the past few years. The thing is, these kinds of issues have existed in a lot of companies, under all kinds of leadership—women, people of color, you name it. TE, a person of color, probably had some of the worst cases of harassment under his watch at Nike.
Look, I get that it was important for society to address these issues, but Nike went overboard, putting social issues ahead of what the company is really about: bringing inspiration and innovation to athletes. They shifted from focusing on categories to focusing on gender, and then started narrowing the talent pool just to hit 'DEI' goals quickly. In the end, that hurt the company’s overall focus.
Also, when you start making comments about white people, Texans, or Christians, it just sounds like the same kind of prejudice you're claiming to fight against—only aimed at a different group. Just my two cents.
Post ID: @ttu+1uBXI6Ct, Oh, you want the whammy? Buckle up!
Let’s get this straight: under EH “leadership”—whether he was hands-on or just pretending not to notice—there was a full-blown festival of s-xual harassment, misconduct, pay inequity, gender discrimination, and lawsuits galore. Who cares about all that, right? Just a few minor details. It’s not like those things matter when you’re the white male Christian nationalist from Texas, we’ve all been waiting for. Nothing screams “qualified to fix systemic issues” more than someone who fits right into that trifecta of good ol’ boy identity: white, male, and Texan.
But, oh, wait, we’ve also got the Christian nationalist cherry on top. So clearly, all those toxic work environments and diversity problems? Fine now. Let’s slap on the “Christian values” label and pretend like all that ugly stuff under the rug doesn’t exist. Pay equity? Gender equality? Psh, who needs it? Diversity in leadership? No, just let the white dude from Texas handle it; he’ll get right on that after he finishes polishing his “Don’t Mess with Texas” bumper sticker.
And while we’re at it, let’s go all in with the white male nationalist, white Christian nationalist, and Texas nationalist label because why not? That makes everything okay, right? The lawsuits? The discrimination? The harassment? All that magically disappears when you roll up in a pickup truck with a Bible and a Texas flag. It’s like the leadership equivalent of “Jesus take the wheel”—except in this case, Jesus probably would’ve filed the damn lawsuits himself!
So yeah, bring EH back. Let’s dive right back into the cesspool with open arms because nothing fixes decades of deep-rooted issues like pretending none of it matters, as long as you hit all the proper “patriotism” and “Christian values” talking points. As George Carlin would say, “It’s not a solution; it’s a distraction!”
All I can hope is that he kicks MM out the door! Chances are she was pivotal in both EH and ES’s retirements. One of the two should have be named CEO in 2019. Nope, didn’t fit her agenda. Hope that nasty bee gets the boot. But don’t worry folks, she has also made millions, so she will be fine.
BS. He had nothing to do with it. I would know.
“Under his leadership”?
You sure about that ?
@ttu+1uBXI6Ct “I’m a liberal qu--r black woman”
lololol
And I’m a 10’ martian who identifies as IT
we know you’re a white dude from Washington county, OR.
Have you ever listened to him troll? You obviously have no clue.
He had nothing to do with that cesspool. He is a white dude from texas. He was also raised by a christian single mom because his father was g-y.
He publicly spoke about it in several occasions.
He shared that it took him a long time to process it but he was able to reconcile with his dad on good terms. Reflect on how much the country changed over those years.
He is a wholesome human being. You dont need to be woke to care about DEI (actual dei not the bs activist agenda) or trying to level the playing field for underrepresented minorities.
I am a liberal qu--r black woman and I am only looking forward to EH coming back and have zero worries about the whole culture wars.
Don’t spoil these boomers fun… they’re ecstatic to see the band coming back together. Got Peddie back, EH on vocals and Sprunk about to rejoin… lol.
Except the band never sounds the way you remember them sounding.
This tooo shall fail.
That was a Friends of Trevor E story.
Sweet journal entry nerd
This didn’t happen under EH troll.
