Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Who else is being told RTO5 coming Jan?

Not that I want it, just what I’m hearing.

Is this real or rumor?

Managers are mumbling indecisively over talks of "how we show up to work" so some old fogeys are trying to push it.

I was told RTO6 just to pi-s off the young people in the company, who never worked prior to the fake pandemic, and are not used to normal working hours.

@1nho+1vRHpbk7 No one said we were a tech company, but many have said we shouldn’t compare ourselves to in-industry companies with worse sales and margins, many of whom don’t even make the F500 list.

Larger F100 are doing RTO, regardless of industry. That’s the point

@1vqd
And how well are we doing being a tech company????????

Back to product, sales, and marketing . What Nike is good at. If we focus on the right things we will make money damn near automatically.

We lost our way under the tech regime.

@1tnl+1vRHpbk7 Not sure who you’re referring to for competitors being remote. Adidas is 3 days and Hoka is more flexible. On and Lulu are 4. New balance is between 3-4 depending which office and starting to push for RTO.

Also note your top 10 competitors are still all smaller than Nike when combined.

We also don’t typically model them, we model tech, which are all phasing RTO5.

Depends on if we’ve reached the goal headcount after losing thousands the past 2-3 years. Our competitors and other rising stars are still working 2-3 days in office or remote.

I doubt it. Many people still don’t give a sh*t about the current RTO policy, don’t think RTO5 would ever work but I don’t mind though.

Wait until the economy takes a downturn and nobody would even think of quitting. If five days in office will ever happen, that will be the trigger.

For sure though, there’s a growing trend of getting back to pre-COVID work patterns when five days in the office was just the norm. Companies are also using five days in the office as a means of “quiet cutting”, knowing a small number of people will quit and that that’s the point.

I heard we can work remotely 5 days a week actually.

Why is this a troll ? Literally heard it from 3 different sources today so asked .

Never said it was happening or that I hoped it would. It should be ok to ask if rumors are true or false.
