There is a lot of news outside, is there a layoff really? If so, how many people got impacted?

Yes the layoffs and real and there are a lot more coming by end of Q1 and beyond. Start looking for a new job now or you’ll be in a world of hurt when you get RIF’d this year.
A lot of companies (Dell and Microsoft, to name two) have already begun freezing some job reqs with a looming recession on the horizon. This is no time to be complacent.
Is marketing the main target?
We are hiring thousands to be let go in two weeks. Marketing is being reduced by a third. CX probably reduced to a small unit under ERP. It’s a bloodbath in the making.
The culture at Oracle seems to be that each new turn of leadership thinks they know better than the last. AK thought he could get away with more than MH. Turns out he can’t. Now new leaders get tapped it will be more of the same with JM. So yes the massive layoffs in marketing are real. Most in August and the rest after CW. Unless you’ve been told you are safe, you are NOT.
OCI is the favorite child at the moment. But might want to get the supply chain issues sorted. Tick tick cuts will come if you can’t grow and support the Fusion mega monolith

Oracle Advertising did a layoff 2 weeks ago. Lots of management gone, entire teams restructured
I can confirm that many in marketing got cut the week of July 11-15.
It is definitely happening. More than 2 senior marketing executives Have been let go and all marketing activity has ground to a halt. Every single activity has to be sent up to the new exec in charge to review and get approved Everything. Hundreds of marketing activities stalled. People being told to keep their heads down and keep executing while being told nothing and working harder than ever.
So yes it is really happening.
It has started in Marketing already,
about 60 people so far since mid June and early July. Plus two senior marketing executives of the company (A.K. and J.L.) are being let go. If you look at Aria, their team have been reassigned to a Netsuite executive.
No one seems to have any idea. A lot of people are just speculating wildly.
I am from OCI, we are hiring and we didn’t hear anything about layoffs internally
