Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Are we done yet?

All seems to be quiet on the lay off front judging from the lack of new posts on this forum. Do we think we will have continued 60 day notices putting last days worked into January, or are we done til 1st quarter?

Associates aged 55 and up company-wide (with exception of essential roles) were offered early retirement through a mass email yesterday. Humana is desperately trying to cut costs and fast. Decisions are due by December 1st. Please read BB post on 10/30 concerning the economy, I pasted a partial sentence here 'At work, we’ll need to double down on lowering our internal costs....' Salaries are a significant overhead cost. So, yes, there will be more layoffs and more layoffs. In the end, I believe very few, if any of us, will come out unscathed.

Hearing lots of outsourcing I.E. utilization, big changes in Medicare and contracting. Rifs to continue through end of year and into 2024.

To the poster that said more layoffs coming this week- what areas?

Is anyone able to give areas expected ( previous comments expecting more at the end of this week and then that the RIF’s haven’t even really started) to be affected - more than just the abbreviations? We have all come to realize multiple areas in the organization have the same or similar acronyms?
