Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Thinking of Lincoln?

Is Lincoln, Ne a safe place to live?

With a crime rate of 38 per one thousand residents, Lincoln has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities.

What are the rough areas of Lincoln?

Ermine is the most dangerous neighborhood in Lincoln, followed by Bracebridge North & Boultham Moor in second place, and Wharf & University as the third most dangerous area. Lincoln's safest neighborhoods are, in order, Bracebridge Heath & Waddington, Bracebridge South & Swallow Beck, and Hartsholme & Birchwood East.

Been there, not a bad city, decent food. But they have winter and state income tax. Little diversity and no professional sports teams. And you want people from NY, TX, FL, CA to relocate to NE? Come on Man

Thought about it and even browsed houses online, with rates still high my payment goes up with a smaller house that sells for less than my current house. Then there is state income tax. Im remote in TX and there is no income tax. Move to lincoln for a pay cut? Nope. Fiserv has not offered to offset these costs, just a two year interest free loan. Seems like indentured something or other

The only real crime in Lincoln is they claim to still have a sellout streak for that sad excuse of a football team...

That being said, from what I understand Fiserv still has tax break requirements in Lincoln. Don't know for how long though, that seems to be the saving grace.

People in Lincoln warning people in Sioux Falls about weather is the best thing I'll read this week.

@1tts+1oKq6aKm while that's true, it isn't like the Sioux Falls, South Dakota location they're being forced out of is a tropical paradise.

Don't get me wrong. Do what's best for you and your family, and I doubt allegiance to a company that wants to uproot you works toward that end. I'm just not thinking the weather is the prime factor here.

Did ChatGPT write that? Lincoln is in the absolute most landlocked state, an hour away from even a navigable river. Pick up on the red flags in your source when it claims a "Wharf" neighborhood.

Lincoln is cold. That winter wind will bite you. If you cannot drive on ice or know the difference DO NOT COME

Lincoln is a great city! But I wouldn’t advise moving anywhere for this company. In a year they could do a 180 and decide to shutdown Lincoln and demand we all commute to Omahole! Which I wouldn’t do either.

If Lincoln is safe enough for Sydney Loofe, then it is safe enough for Fiserv.

They are asking you to move to Nebraska not the UK. Lincoln is a safe community, but I understand people not wanting to move here.

For most people, the reasons NOT to move will far exceed the reasons TO move for this company.

Yeah those aren't neighborhoods in Lincoln, NE.

Lincoln is a good place, college town, but it's in NE and there isn't a single reason to relocate here if you don't have family or a
GREAT work incentive. The latter of those does not exist for Fiserv.

Lincoln Nebraska! Not Lincoln New England. Lincoln Nebraska is a superb town with low crime rates and great people. Do not move here for Fiserv though.
