There are many employees who have been working 14 hour days for almost 2 years now while others have absolutely nothing to do. Let the unproductive ones go and fill in where needed to spread the workload so quality doesn’t go down. Lazy Managers don’t want to say that they employees with spare time because that would make them look bad.

This is someone else’s post, but I couldn’t have said it better. It bothers me a lot, but it’s not really the people who are unproductive that are to blame, but the management that covers their failures in this way.
