Understandable, given the outdated RTO push. RTO reeks of someone whose mind is firmly stuck in the 80s or 90s.
But a quick Google search reveals that the CEO and COO are both mid 50s!
Mid 50s is not geriatric. This makes RTO even more difficult to rationalize. The men running this company have to know how senseless it is. They're not old enough to hide behind outdated ignorance.
Exactly, @1rrl. I just saw a meme claiming boomers didn't understand crypto like millennials do. Funny thing is, block chain was invented by boomers. And millennials have no idea the power of our government and what's going to happen when they enforce their KYC policies on crypto.
I am older than these C-suite people, but the vibe I get is that they are "out dated".
The word "dinosaur" comes to mind as well.
Chronological age matters little. It's the thoughts and ideas that people have that matters.

The CEO and COO are both from the upper class, therefore they have no idea how anything actually works if it's beneath their pay grade. They were taught in business schools that haven't updated their views on economics in close to a century, despite tons of market evidence that their theories are wrong.

I think this bunch of goons was just old enough for them not to have understood the satire in the movie "Wall Street" when they saw it as teenagers and the ethos of the greedy 80s still seems heaven to them.
It is there underhanded way of gettimg rid of "cult members". Get people to quit without having to pay severeance is a goal.
