Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Force INDIRECT stores to abide by same guidelines

If the indirect agents can have a Verizon sign above their store, they need to abide by the same guidelines as corporate stores for health and safety. We have customers constantly saying they will just go to the indirect to purchase because they don't require masks and they don't have a 1:1 ratio. How confusing for a customer that everyone is not on the same page. Did they take this into account when they came up with our quota?

Damn us corporate reps are dumb af for sticking with it. We could have been making 3,800 in commish during a pandemic like big baller down there.

And the local indirect (c-s— wireless) that bought out the corporate stores in western KS are pretty mean to older people just going in for customer service issues. Had one call me on my phone crying because they were trying to push them into a smart phone. But when you don't get a decent base pay, what do you expect??

@1frh+ My store is surrounded by "resellers " and I see anything thats not a sale being directed to my location every single day. So the negative responses must be resellers or Mgmt ! Yes,this happenning and it is reality to us that have the indirects around them! So next week I hope when we have 2 reps opening or closing the people directed to our store for non sales will have to do appointments because of staffing concerns. so welcome to my world everyday!

i work for an indirect currently. previously, i was in Verizon Corporate B2B for 8 years. Those days of high pay are gone. There are more people in this organization making 6 figures than those in corporate. Yes, the benefits might be a tad bit better, especially the heathcare and VARS. ( do you guys still offer VARS?)

Its funny it is stated by the OP that indirect should play by the same rules, when the corporate doors certainly do not. Slamming customers with HUMS, insurance, new lines, ghost lines. The same things you tell customers that fake verizon stores do, you guys do it more, and customers believe you because you are the real verizon.

Running corporate stores are expensive and a liability to the company.

Verizon loves the copy T-Mobile

Forbid corporate stores from doing a high volume of sales using the pandemic as an excuse.

Reduce commission by the incentivizing sales. Completely remove upgrades from the scenario.
Leading to a narrative that the company can push that corporate stores aren't doing the volume.

Indirect locations can push boxes deal with paying employees deal with health insurance and deal with paying for real estate. Verizon just collects those monthly bills

oh and they don't have to pay corporate store employees corporate store Management corporate store support offices.

This is an engineered plan to get rid of or significantly decrease corporate stores and corporate store employees.

These surveys we get aren't to get how employees feel they're designed to understand if they're narrative is being bought into.

Now that everything is on the table I will have you know these moves are calculated, like a giant game of chess.

Each move is to transfer customers to indirect stores while bidding for the praise of retail by making them think they are above petty content transfers and brown box specials. Customers return where trust is garnered. Simultaneously we will transition their pay into customer satisfaction surveys “because we care” about paying retail less.

We can’t stop bleeding customers so we will cut costs. Every move we gain a pawn and lose a rook. It’s forward, but really backwards. My Leadership team needs until 2022 to complete our Kamikazee mission. There are exits all throughout this plane!

The big change for our indirect friends will begin on September 7th when the corporate stores go back to regular hours. At that time. Anything thats not a sale will be directed to make an appointment (in theory) This is because of the staff reductions at most corporate locations. So sending all your phone content transfers, open box fedex, troubleshooting, sim replacement, and password resets with everything else you send us everyday
should stop and our indirect friends will have to start doing more of these tasks. So stop saying " the corporate store only does that!" Because when they drive 20 miles and find out they have to come back the next day they will come back to you fuming mad! This is what the conference call was about this week by the Dms to the Gms.And he made it clear this plan cannot be deviated from during busy mornings and evenings when there is on 2 or 3 reps working! Look at is this way indirect will be busier and you'll be handling things you should have been doing all along! Maybe your company should institute an appointment system!

@1rrg+16K13MH2 Are you talking pre pandemic or now ? I work for an indirect location as a sales rep In PA and have friends that work in corporate retail stores. I’ve been with indirect for 2 years and I make 17.00 an hour plus commission. Last month I made 3,800 in commish and on average before the pandemic made 3k a month. Last year my total gross was almost 80k. Based on what my friends in the corporate stores tell me the most any rep will make on the new plan might be 60k .I agree you may have some better perks but those perks will never outweigh 20k extra a year in income. BTW our medical and dental benefits are great since we are a nationwide reseller with hundreds of locations . Honestly I feel more secure about my job at the indirect location and they have zero plans on going to a team comp structure. Good luck and best wishes.

The indirect side Reps do not make near what a corporate rep makes. Many indirect locations do not offer benefits and if they do they are sub standard and expensive. They also do not have unlimited inventory to sell and many times lose customers due to not having inventory. The direct side has it far better than the indirect rep. Also, the agent do not offer tuition reimbursement, the list goes and on.

Everything with the whole 2.0 is focusing on the customer experience. There are more indirect locations then corporate yet we have different rules and pay plans. Most of the stores look identical to each other. The experience shopping in a indirect store is totally different....even during the pandemic. The main plan is that Verizon wants to cycle out the long time reps and those who were making the bigger checks. It’s a risky endeavor because with 5G about to explode Verizon should want hungry reps wanting to sell and have better opportunity to make more money. I agree the commission plan needed to be tweaked to prevent slamming and reps being fraudulently opportunistic but long term this team stuff is going to crush the bottom line profits.
