@1qqt+196RK1hQ Same here. Took a tough stand against a team lead who was setting me up to failure due to his laziness and incompetence. Ended up being mobbed, gaslighted by both team lead and supervisor for 6 months until I was finally laid off despite having a good record and going above & beyond for my experience level (0-3 years).
Not surprising because when incompetent and inexperienced people are promoted to leadership positions, they will make even the highly motivated and capable employees lose motivation and eventually set them to fail to protect their image, pride, inflated ego and eliminate anyone perceived to potentially challenge their growth. Maybe the top management is serious about culture change, but many team leads and supervisors seriously lack behavioral skills and are not capable of understanding and evaluating technical work based on merit. Being a glib tongue talker, presentation jockeys, being narrow-minded, defensive attitude, stealing credit for others work, s—ing up to people of power etc. are come common traits I have observed amongst the low level leaders (people with power). Unless someone is desperate to get their severance package or have their performance review impacted, please DON'T approach management for help if you have concerns. They WILL retaliate.
Loved the job, and most of the colleagues I worked with, but experience with management (team-lead and supervisor) was very disappointing. Happy to have left that toxic environment they created for me.
