I'd rather them hire criminals then transport dirty indians from across the globe. They are very very rude and lazy people!

That's disturbing considering that I have no criminal record, worked at big banks, and they still won't consider me for employment.

How can you guarantee a Pedo will not working closely to our precious kids in facilities with Daycare?

If before I was afraid to RTO due Covid, now I am afraid to be ra--d!

I find this all so bizarre. In my group, we haven't been allowed to do external hiring in almost two years. We can post jobs and take internal transfers, but no added FTE from outside the bank.

So where are this felons going?

I believe three to four years ago JD said JPM had started hiring people with minor offenses like driving intoxicated and something like that.
I think this trend continues, JD just decided to make a publicity stunt out of it.

As far as employee shortage is concerned. There is plenty of worthy candidates, but manager want shining stars who don't require any training and investments in them ( like people from the head office coming to the deep back office). And of course, JPM is not likely to give a counter-offer to a worthy employee who had decided to leave. With base increases of 1.5% for the last three years, what do they expect employees to do in the current economy ? $100K in NY makes you live paycheck to paycheck, especially if you have children. Employees will be leaving, managers will continue wining about low quality candidates (heard these exact words myself while my group was interviewing)

It’s real news. The employment application no longer has a box to check indicating the person applying has a criminal record.

Baking bread is different than ex convicts having access to clients’ personal information, confidential bank processes and security. But then I’m guessing this risky business of hiring ex cons to do some dirty work is all baked in to the price of the fines when they get caught.

Nothing new under the sun. Except if you’re an ex con with a criminal record, they’re gonna make you the fall guy at some point.

And don’t forget, employees with criminal records will get extra protection and privilege compare to law abiding / clean record employees because they don’t want them to feel discriminated or being bullied

So for those that like to be social with their coworkers, now is the time to be less talking and more doing. You don’t know what they will do if they know too much about you...

How will clients feel about having employees with criminal records having access to their information?

Asking for a friend.

Wow, so it used to be you needed to pass a background check to get hired. Now your new coworkers could have criminal records.

And the employees with criminal records probably won’t get laid off.

Clown world.
