Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Earnings Report is out !

Well we’ll, a beat on the EPS and a miss in the revenue. I’m sure you know what that means for employees. Rif is coming. Verizon always increases revenue by reduction of staff.

If you listen to what Hans said on the call he wants to reorganize the employees he has. This next one will be top end managers. You will see more consolidation of level one supervisors moving into senior manager roles and vice versa along with Director and Exec Director, associate director Cuts. Directors bring very little value these days as most have been shuffled many years. You’ll also see VZ encouraging more union staff to move into management while not filling empty union positions.

so execs have to plan their own departure while they cut their org. Even if they have to leave, Verizon will remain top heavy.

Reducing staff and other related costs will increase net income, not revenue, as long as sales remain relatively consistent year-over-year.

GTS (IT) could cut half of the SVPs and VPs and not skip a beat. Directors and below are needed.

How do you increase revenue by reduction of staff? I think while it may reduce costs, it won’t have much effect on revenue.
