Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The End is here

It's official, Hans and team are going after benefits.

Received a survey about what would be better:

Give up benefits/increasethe cost in order to give us more compensation. Or give up compensation in exchange for keeping benefits the same.

The king is dead.

The blood suckers are going all out on this one.

Going union could stop all of this. Just saying. Union dues usually work out to be less than $400 per year. We've all lost more than that yearly already. This needs to stop.

Are these surveys being sent randomly? There is only 1 specialists whom I have spoken to has gotten one.

The funny thing is they tell you the survey is completely anonymous but if you look at the link, it includes your employee ID number. Do they really think we are that stupid not to see that? Plus this survey is being done by a consulting firm. I think they are using this survey to figure who to layoff next. The fact that they are lying about it being anonymous is really shady. So much for integrity and transparency.

I really wish I would have thought to put in the text box ‘this is really just to get people to quit right?’

I got the same survey I didn’t get the same vibe as you. Just kind of what would you prefer more tuition assistance or increase in matched 401K

Can’t wait to see what fancy phrase or slogan they use when they announce these changes. I’m sure they will find something d-mb to thrown in to make it seem like they are giving more benefits, just to raise the costs of the others. Then we will be forced to choose between 2 packages, both being higher than now. We do it to customers everyday, now it’s the employees turn.

Only reason I've stuck around so long is because of our insurance. If that goes I go.

Remember years ago when they increased wages by reducing the STI? They realized that hourly wages were lower than competitors and the cost of living increased, so instead of raising them, they told everyone they were doing a favor by decreasing the STI %, but giving it as a guaranteed wage increase. This made it appear that they increased pay to show that the wages were the same as competitors, but all it did was shift the bucket the money came from and Verizon didn't have to increase anything.

Don't forget the already decreased the monthly internet payment.

"All if you should have taken the voluntary rif in 2018"

@1qcl+1jw9wYLT-What a stupid thing to say. They didn't offer it to everyone. I know people that tried and were not allowed to volunteer. It was only offered to certain departments/people and even then not everyone that was offered was given it. They obviously are trying to get people to quit by sending this email and if it is only going to certain people it's pretty obvious who they want to quit rather than offer severance. What a sh---y company this has turned into.

So I guess when they changed our comp plan they expected more people to quit, the ones that remain are going to quit now with this

All of you should have taken the voluntary rif in 2018. I took it and so happy and I did a 30 year sentence in the Jail Cell of VZW. Get out. That ship is sinking fast and I would BET everything...All In on Comcast buys Verizon and ki--s even more. 5G cores will ki-l all of you. Light touch and self install kits will leave you all holding resumes in your hands. Good luck to all of you. The great shrinkage of Telco's underway. Union jobs will prevail. Wireless group better orginize or start preparing for a new career. Sorry...truth hurts.

Wait they're polling about cutting vacation days and STI? They want people to quit and not just a few.

This company is so fu---d!! Also they are terrified that stores will unionize. This is why we are starting to one store at a time. We are sick of Hans' penny pinching and corporate lies. Our stocks show it, we as reps show it, management's failures show it...either we need a new CEO or this will be a sunken ship in a short time.

Not entirely comfortable with this survey. It is very either or. Very few questions about which one is better that are both more …ie which do you agree with more cheaper or higher BPI? A lot of two more holidays or increase of 20pct of benefits. Or reduce PTO by 5 days or reduce STI and gym subsidy? Sneaked in a gym membership to shadow the reduction.

Loved the 50% decrease or 100% increase of nothing question. I also didn’t see a single option at the end that was in any way good I wonder if people got different options or we all got the same ones. Most of the perl options are things you can get pretty much for free.

I wonder what pay band you have to be to get that survey, but lmao if they think this is going to help productivity then good luck.

That's insane. I guess they've run out of people to layoff. Now they'll squeeze the people that remain.
