@7pqk+1tGObpQr. First off - What is your issue with boomers? And second, why are you against equality and fairness when it comes to RTO verses WFH? I'm guessing you are a tele-commuter so you don't give a fig.
For me, I'm OK with RTO as long as it's applied equally.

The sole purpose of RTO is to have people quit. Coupled with the other things this mismanagement team has come up with - cuts to the 401k, no meaningful raises or bonuses, etc. - this is just another "incentive" to make you leave without the necessity of paying you severance. Unfortunately, it's working. It worked on me. I'm outta here. Executive management got one more. May they rot in he-l.

“Never seen such unfairness in 30 years working in corporate America”

Looks like we found the Boomer upset they don’t get to WFH

And as far as “most unfair” you must have missed the memo on the salary disparity between us and Billy and all of his peers. But that’s ok. So we have established 1) the most terrible thing in the 30 year history of corporate America are when you personally have been treated “unfair” resulting in a personal grievance 2) salary disparity is not an issue. Likely because you are simply a temporary displaced CEO

So now we have your political leanings as well Boomer

Our team has to go back to the office, but we had so many people laid off that out of the 7 of us who were retained, no one works in the same office... so we all are going to be driving the office and communicating over teams still...

I also know for a 100% fact that 4 of us are looking to leave ASAP and have quietly quit.

I can't believe that Truist is so braindead that would implement the RTO that's worse than pre-covid at the same time as the layoffs... like wtf were you guys thinking?

Lots of inequitable treatment in my area. Our leader (1 down from Operating Council level) has 1 direct that's a telecommuter and another with a Charlotte office location who is mostly at their home far from anyone in another state. Lots of other examples as you work your way down the reporting structure. Yet others who live far from Atlanta or Charlotte are being told they will need to move closer to an office. The stupid thing is so many are being forced to go to offices where they don't work with anyone just to sit on Teams calls or get distracted by someone they don't work with. Talk about the opposite of creating engagement (can't wait for the next survey results). Bill's purpose and legacy is to create the worst engagement scores in company history.

Relaxing the RTO? Bill is that you?

Where did you hear or see they are relaxing the RTO requirements?

What makes me laugh is the fact that they are relaxing the RTO guidance because they don’t have enough office space. We have complete mo--ns running this shot show.

@1cri+1tGObpQr - Richmond has the same inequality issue. Some teammates are allowed to WFH even though they live within 50 miles and have the same/simular role as teammates required to RTO 4 days. Never seen such unfairness in 30 plus years in corporate America.

Can people get accommodations for mental health? I perform well
on my job but sitting in traffic, not having time for my kids just to sit with strangers makes me deeply depressed.

Horrible lifestyle for nothing. Yes I’m looking for a new job. Also clown me all
you want, it’s a reflection on your own internal shortcomings.

@1qay+1tGObpQr If you are in HR, how do you sleep at night being part of this fiasco , working for that smiling sweat hog Chief Teammate Officer who has been a part of this problem from day one, how?

Not an attorney but I am in HR, there is definitely risk around how companies apply RTO or flexible work policies.

This article is from a week ago.

There is zero risk, especially in the South, to an organization in having some workers required to be in the office while others work remote, and having those required to be in the office actually be in to get a good performance review. Zero.

I’d love to meet the attorney that is going to take that EEOC complaint.

To be clear, RTO is a joke. But thinking there is any risk because it’s “unfair” is an even bigger joke.

What recent RTO updates are you referring to? Could you point me to where it is. I had not seen anything.
Thanks

The recent RTO updates talk about “similarly situated teammates” should be treated the same. That’s what the problem in my group is and seems to be Truist wide. Our team has 2 telecommuters that live close-in to Charlotte and Winston, then our Atlanta people within 30 miles are “office-centric” and have to come in 4 days a week and pay parking, and next our two Atlanta people with 31-33 mile commutes who got switched to remote. A difference in commute of 1 mile is not different enough to justify the difference from never coming in to basically always coming in (4 days). I think Truist is exposing itself to risk but won’t realize the impact until they try to discipline or use office attendance in compensation or performance decisions and ratings.

I didn’t care about the unfairness among our team until the threatened enforcement and excessive 4 day requirement. I still feel bad about complaining on here but it’s better than whining at work. I don’t want any of my coworkers that are blessed with telecommute to lose that, I just want something fair and good for myself too, lol

The latest guidance from Brad Bender for Enterprise Technology states there should be some manager discretion.

Have any other managers had to change someone from remote to office centric? Or the other way? I am going to lose people over this. I already had someone turn down an offer over the 4 days. I’m in Atlanta

Sounds about right. Truist certainly isnt requiring RTO 4 days along with big brother badge swipe monitoring to encourage teammates to stick around.
