Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Good to know

Measure your safety by workload and work difficulty. When a leader tells you to feel safe but does the opposite to give you more difficult work with tight deadline, you know you may be targeted as potential layoff target. That does not mean you have done anything wrong. Typically age 55+ employees with more PTOs accumulated and higher salary bands are targeted by each layoff decision maker compared to younger employees. If you get regular workload reduced significantly and get one or more difficult tasks than usual with tight deadline, then it's an effort that your leader makes to prove to HR that you should be the layoff target in his or her team. Otherwise, you cannot kick off a top performer from your team without a valid reason.

Bumping this from @4zwd+1nWn9otT for info.

I agree with @3hvk+1oFcGYT6. Think they will integrate all of the UM and CM that they can but that will still leave all of our members that are not enrolled with center well clinics, which leaves a lot for humana Inc to manage.

Do you know when?

I think is going to be whole departments and general cutbacks related to the transition to more physical member facing, like the Centerwells

Yes, those over 55 can be RIF’d, but it is illegal for them to be “targeted”, as the poster stated

So I think the only question we’re wondering is when the next riff is going to be and what group will be affected. The rest of this is old news.

@1pju+1oFcGYT6- Humana CAN and does RIF those over 55. I’m not going to name anyone but know at least 5 people in that group that were top performers that have been “retired” INVOLUNTARILY!

A top performer can get let go in a RIF. Those over 55 cannot be targeted by law. There is now a cap on PTO. While you bumped something you felt needed to be shared, it appears you didn’t read the thread. Please be careful in the future as to what you bump, if there was been input on it, because you may be spreading fallacies and causing more misinformation to be spread

In Humana you can be a top producer (sales) and they still let you go. They measure so many things. Attendance, quality, KPIs for whatever occurs to them.
