@1pjk 100%. Nobody knows what’s in there beyond the basics. It’s gone unmanaged for so long. Free for all. No accountability for the end to end work.

With all these personnel and strategy changes, we feel farther away from the vision than we were 6 months ago.

If you actually work with Adobe analytics it's freaking horrible too, a complete bloated mess

One thing about JD’s strategy from 2020 which has been absolutely awfully executed was investing in NikeTech. It was basically giving your red headed step child a blank check and keys to the car. Giving them money was never the problem. The problem has always been the people we hired and put into leadership roles.

I don’t know anyone in Tech that’s ever been happy even after they were basically spared from the 2020 reorg, then got massive salary bumps.

I actively had people trying to recruit me to go over there with the “large salaries” and WFH roles but most of those people are laid off now…

Seems like we are throwing good money after bad trying to save face after a bad decision that has not paid off. The technical debt we must have created trying to make it work must be staggering.

DA, VP is global tech signed off multi million deal with Adobe during RAT’s time. Purpose was to connect with digital customers, enable recommendations and personalization. This after Global Tech, marketing and consumer analytics spend multi milllion $ to build data platforms using other technologies such as Snowflake/Darabricks and AWS S3.

Architecture signed off on this and global tech ended up building and spending without any significant incremental revenue.

Teams that should be held accountable are Enterprise Data and Analytics, Global Platforms and Architecture, Marketing Technology, Consumer Analytics, Commercial Analytics.

Who demanded this to be signed, which technical assessments & recommendations were made and then who accepted against the recommendations?

Those are the real questions on my mind 😊

Why is this so difficult?? Every retailer does digital marketing and has a similar toolbox.

Adobe is implemented. Integrations are different here. Unlike how other brands have done it. Hard to see how we get much more value

The layoffs restructured teams beyond recognition and impacted leaders that knew Adobe.

So is the implementation cancelled, delayed, done but not doing anything?

The Adobe Target, Journey Analytics/Orchestrator & Consumer Data Platform software modules/cloud services. Basically tools that are supposed to make it possible to better advertise to digital customers. What the Nike clowns at the top fail to realize and what Adobe fails to disclose is that their tools are incredibly difficult to integrate and work with. Nike spent millions on software tools that do absolutely NOTHING for them. This is what happens when you have a tool like JD playing gold with Adobe’s CEO and a bunch of clueless yes men under JD. Hard to believe that Nike has been run into the ground like this.

I’ll second that. Like a bunch of other people I work in a corporate support function at Nike that’s somewhat removed from the core business. When people throw out mentions of apparently large projects like Adobe or SEC I have no clue what they’re talking about.
