I see return to office impacting people in risk and other groups under SVB (IT head) however when is it going to swing over to us in security (ICS)? We have LOTS of folks, including many senior folks, who live no where near a location (some even out of state) but yet have the MAC codes showing them as being in one of the Charlotte offices.

When i worked in the office my mac was N9xxx, now that i wfh and changed my mac address to mail to my house my mac is N2xxx
To answer the mail part of your post: If your MAC code is 7XXX-9XXX, that designates a remote MAC code (there might be more in that range but not sure). At that point, the address in their profile is just the corporate site where their mail gets delivered out of and may not be anywhere near them. Nobody can say for sure when/if RTO will really impact them.
A lot of tech nerds will be exempt. They'll be the least impacted group in the company outside executives. Most other LOBs are completely screwed. Some of us never left of the office in the first place.
Charlotte is not a location? That makes no sense, Charlotte, in addition to being a hub, is one of the few cities that has multiple ICS employees. Between that and RTO, what are they going to do, dump all of ICS and start over?
The RIP guy will let you know in Oct. All those +40 miles from a “core building in a key location” will be out. The team I’m on is already working on job posts to replace them. Charlotte not a location for the posts.
BTW, your MAC code can be mapped to your home address. Mine is. It is a simple form to get a home MAC set up.
Everyone that I know that has been full time WFH has an address recorded as some office nearby to them. Nearby may mean 150 miles away, but it is the closest one.
Everyone is getting a survey that goes to your Move Coordinator that will require you to fill out information that they need to help prep space for you.
Remember, if you are WFH, as recent executive emails have stated, you are being invited to join your colleagues in returning to the office.
That'll be a problem for them because that means they were never officially set up as WFH full time. They'll get a seat in Charlotte and then their badge data will show zero. Then they'll problem get some pointed emails about why they aren't showing up.
I hope they are checking people's home addresses in peoplesoft and bouncing that off of what they have as their assigned MAC... People are hiding...
