Is it really a 15 minute meeting invite? Who does it come from, is it Manager/HR? In person or over Zoom? How far in advance? I just want to know what should raise my heart rate when it hits my inbox. Anything you wish you would have known that you want to share?

(Ryan Seacrest voice) "Welcome to Beaverton Non-Vital!"
Wait, is that before or after 'Group Week' @7hic+1qqGfwsj? And I sincerely hope for everyone's sake that I'm not asked to sing. Then I'd definitely be going home.
Everyone is invited to a meeting on Friday.
Two conference rooms.
One room will receive good news "congratulations, you've made it through this round. keep showing up in the office and drinking the orange Kool-Aid and you might make it through the next round"
The other room will be told "I'm sorry, you did not make it through this round, please return to your desk and gather your things, you're going home."
@6nol hope it’s nothing, but if it does happen remember things will be ok
Just received a 30 minute invite from my manager, no agenda, for a topic that doesn't need a meeting. Meeting time is tomorrow afternoon. I think I'm donezo.
If laid off can you negotiate to keep your Nike swoosh discount if less than 5yrs of service?!
Remote people will be sent boxes and call tags for the nike equipment, Nike pays for shipping.
Yes, it’s typically 30min notice on the invite and titled “mandatory “ or something like that. Ask to keep your phone, they usually do let you keep it. Transfer your cloud contacts in advance or you will lose them. Email yourself all your personal pictures and documents. Personal only. It is heavily monitored. Don’t send anything work related. Everyone should do this now regardless if you’re impacted. CYA
@1jxz+1qqGfwsj Paperwork we sign says we can’t discuss it. Sorry.
Is money paid lump sum so one can claim
unemployment asap or paid over time? Does it have health for x months or straight to Cobra ? What about PTO and sabbaticals? Espp contributions period to date refunded?
With the NDP layoffs in November, somebody came by weeks after the layoffs to pack up the lockers of those let go. They will ship whatever remains to you.
@1hab in the past they offer to collect your things for you or walk you to get them yourself. You will not be allowed to stay for goodbyes or anything. They take your badge, credit card, laptop, and sometimes phone. They will send you a USB with your personal files from your laptop if you ask them.
Pack a box? FFS we aren’t allowed to personalize a desk or store anything overnight. GPS needs to be the first to go. They can take their mid 90s call center floor plans with them.
Does the security man walk you to the door right after or can one go back to the desk to get one’s coat and pack a box? What are the logistics? How much time? Do they tell you to bring your laptop to the meeting?
@1pfa I agree, the conference room thing is really stressful for everyone
Sincerely hope it’s via zoom for everyone’s sake because being in the office during 2017 was awful. At least there’s a bit more privacy if it’s via zoom.
@wlb+1qqGfwsj yes, also if your role changes or doesn't exist anymore
My invite in 2020 came through about 90 minutes before the meeting.
My VP joined the Zoom call, and then the cold, heartless HR business partner.
My VP was emotional and said some nice words, and then HR went through the next steps and quickly explained the package.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
Wishing you all the best
Is there anyone here who got reassigned to a new team or org during the last layoffs? My manager said that can happen sometimes. So you might keep your job but suddenly be on a new team.
@zlx+1qqGfwsj They send boxes to you to return equipment or send someone to pick it up, depending.
It’s 15 mins. With your exec. Everyone will get one to say if they’re good or not. Some will be moved some will be gone.
@zlx+1qqGfwsj Yes...
Same experience as @oxr+1qqGfwsj in 2020
Weird question but if you’re remote: are you expected to mail your laptop, monitor, and other equipment back to Nike?
There is no finish line.
Funny thing is this is also what a zoom reorg promotion looks like.
If you are on campus, it will be in-person. If you are remote, then Zoom. It is usually 15 min, not more than that.
The invites usually go out first thing in the morning on the day of the exit meetings.
you'll get a meeting invite from your direct manager saying they just want to have a quick chat with you. can be anywhere from 30-60 minutes. if it's not a recurring regular meeting you have with your manager, if it's sudden and there's no agenda list, you can bet it's the one. you will know for certain when you get on the call there's a 3rd person there when it's supposed to be a one on one. then reality hits you and you get that sinking feeling in your gut, but as someone who had to go through that, it's a relief to end the torture and be able to start a new life
You wont be given much notice. Likely just 30-60 minutes before the meeting. It was normally HR and the org VP in the past.
