Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Mortgage employees on the chopping block

If you haven’t figured it out or not, layoffs are coming VERY VERY soon. Big shake up coming by first of the year. Anyone in mortgage needs to find a new job quickly because we are all on their list.

I don't think anyone in HL is safe.

I'd wager at least half the CCS in my site have fewer than 10 loans.

Even if Chase does expect things to improve (do they?) I can't imagine them keeping staffing at current levels.

IMO it's not a matter of who but when and how many.

CCS in Manilla are currently taking refi apps and will be trained on purchase apps in the next 6-9 months. I also understand that if home equity ever does come back it will go straight there and not be handled stateside at all. I agree, the mistakes are too great to ignore and will eventually catch up to them.

I honestly had no idea there are CCSs in Manila now. Does anyone know when that started and what region they serve?

@1pbz+1k3IN6BI don't forget all of those ccs employees that are now newly trained and actively working their own files in the Phillipines. If you haven't noticed ALL Phl extensions on email addresses across the board in all of the mortgage departments, you may be fooled into thinking you are safe. Btw, many of the newly formed Phl teams no longer use those extensions meaning even we don't know they are offshore unless checking their actual profile. It's disturbing. I feel sorry for customers as the error rates in the work coming out of these departments are staggering. Not their fault. They are wayyyy too green to even understand. I'm so disappointed that it's not being mentioned in any meetings just how wide spread these errors are. When you end up having to explain to your underwriter, CCS, or title/trust/cd/support analyst WHY they are wrong it's pretty sad. And when we are no longer there to catch these errors, it will then become clear to Chase why us seasoned employees were needed. Good luck to all of us.

My brother in law drove a mortgage director when he was out driving for Uber and apparently he works for Chase and said that the next planned layoff is in February. He mentioned that 10% across the board will be affected but that could change. This could just be a rumor but idk.

I am a WFH CCS so we don't hear much in the way of rumors re: layoffs, but the numbers suggest it's likely to happen again and probably soon. We're slower now than we were in June and September when the previous layoffs took place. I don't know exact numbers, but I think we've lost between 40-50 CCSs starting with round 1 of layoffs. I think we as CCSs are just curious as to how thin are they going to stretch us before having to hire new CCSs once things pick up again?

Those of us in HL are not blind and see the writing on the wall. However, unless you know some real news, please quit trying to add gas to the fire if you are merely guessing.

Is this confirmed?

are you a manager that you can see “The List” or is just again rumors
I doubt they get rid of all mortgages here in the USA. We know that Manila takes lots of our tasks but still
Well at least they gave here in Tempe to work the last 2 weeks from home
