Thread regarding CVS layoffs

So this explains alot...

https://news.bloomberglaw.com/ip-law/ex-cigna-executive-blocked-from-joining-cvs-8th-circuit-affirms

So CVS is paying some executive who doesn't even work for the company yet 10 million?!? Yeah great business move. No wonder they always cry broke. Just another reason to cut hours and say sorry that's the best we can do for raises.

The real story is that everything is reactive and not proactive. Top Management anticipates change. Junk management reacts to problems. Abysmal management lets problems fester. Let’s look at this move. Poaching a key employee puts the sc--ws to the direct competitor. There is a motive to steal a book of business. This is clearly reactive. The Bloomberg report shows infant nasal spray made in India contaminated with pesticides. That’s pretty bad. Analgesic for infants used infected water. That is bad. The problems occurred three times as often as competitors. This is pervasive. The individual running the most profitable denial mill had his license revoked for reckless prescribing of narcotics and alteration of records. CVS answer: It was a long time ago. So what? Who uses trash like this in a Company that sells pharmaceuticals?

@1zxw+1t6GMRFr That sounds about right for CVS. The real question is who's bright idea was it to put the cart before the horse, and agree to pay her, knowing she had a non-compete agreement?

CVS has agreed to pay Bricker’s $10 million salary for two years even if she doesn’t do any work.

When they assign some dead wood to transformation you know that someone is thinking- Where can we put this dimwit?

@1oac+1t6GMRFr ok, but add that $10m onto say $6b overpay for oak street signify (I’m prob being overly generous), millions of dollars dumped into transformation 1.0 only to dump millions of dollars into transformation 2.0 to undo it a year later. Millions more dumped into health hubs, clinical trials, audiology/optometry, etc. This company continuously lights money on fire then whines about needing to cut down on payroll (but non-executive obviously$

300k people working for the company… $10 million in payroll is gone in like less than 1 hour… dont think its gonna break the bank…the hours cuts are managing orders of magnitude more in expense variation lol
