Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I feel sorry for the new employees

The company has become pretty desperate because it cannot find adequate candidates to work in such working conditions, so they have started hiring those who are underqualified. What happens then? They are thrown onto something they don’t understand and have to learn on their own in a very short time and go through a lot of stress. It's awful what's going on at Fiserv.

That's an issue anywhere with high turnover. Not everything in someone's head can be written in handoff/KT documents. There are things people just .... know. They've been doing those things for years and it's as natural as breathing. Same goes for the business relationships these people have created. Inter-team relations, built over time, are critical for smooth project implementation and subsequent support. I loved starting a new project with folks with whom I had a good history. Those relationships don't just happen in a week or two.

@1nwl+1gSm4Gq7 Please share what award the analyst program received? You must be new or drinking the kool-aid. The analyst program was created to get cheap labor (Frank), free ideas (also Frank) and naive victims (Tony).

This generation grew up in a digitally native environment - that also means we don't feel that the jobs we do require us to be chained to an office location 3-5 days a week.

I get it, you are afraid we can see through your petty scam of RTO because you feel the need to control us. Wake up, this ain't the 1990's anymore!

The problem is there isn't anyone with experience left to teach college grads what they need to know in 20 months, and engineers don't have time to train up a temp employee. Glad Fiserv can be a spring board to help propel their career's though.

You sound like you don’t even work at Fiserv so why do you come to this site. iF you do you would know Fiserv has one of the best, award winning Analyst programs in business. This program gives college grad two experiences in 20mos in their field of interest while teaching them all aspects of their job. By the way this generation grew up in a digitally native environment. I get it you are afraid they will know more than you after a short time!
