They want to come in, do the work and go home. No fight, no issues, no political position, no stuggle, no activism, no unions, no positions, no pamphlets and battle cries. They want a paycheck in exchange for eight hours of labor. I am one of them.

Nike owning your life is not uncommon for large companies is a competitive industry. They don't want you to get comfortable or to become a lifer.
If you've been at Nike for a couple of years and you're not where you wanted to be, then start looking around for something else. An SVP told this.

Then stop whining, quit, and reapply as an ETW. Of course you'll feel like the help while FTEs do whatever they want, but honestly it's worth it to not have to deal with the politics.
At any rate, Nike becoming your life is what you sign up for when you accept an FTE offer with the perks, benefits, bonuses, sense of superiority, etc. that come with the black badge. Can't have it both ways.
Totally agree. Nike is supposed to be a job - not a lifestyle we need to partake in 24/7.
This is so true and i feel the same. I have no time to work and i am in meetings for most of the day. The decision makers takes so much time to give right direction and it gets difficult to get things done. Also , I have seen multiple groups trying to solve the same problem and that’s what JD is referring to I guess.
I like how at Nike far left politics are being rammed down everyone's throats god help you if you are not a democrat. We forced to attend meetings about how white people are born with racism as their original sin and how America is an evil country that will never rid itself of its bigotry. I like how non-whites at Nike including senior directors and VPs who have large houses and drive luxury cars get to lecture me about how they are being oppressed everyday
Agreed. I just want to do my job to the best of my ability, help my teammates and at the end of the day go home to my family. In return, I want to get my bi-weekly paycheck that I earned. THAT IS ALL.
