Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

GT All Hands

Aside from Resilience, never seen or heard from a weaker panel of leaders. The low iq cheerleaders su-king up to them was cringe.
The only thing I’ve seen coming out of GT is 5k runs and wing eating contests and goofy costumes.
Can’t wait to see the leaders direct their folks to make holidays videos starring themselves during our busiest time of year.
Also cringe to hear them say how tech ops is “family” over and over. It’s a paycheck bruh..

Remember that Nike is not family. It’s more like a sports team. Family doesn’t disown you and kick you out the door after 10 years. But a sports team will. Nike is a paycheck with some pluses and minuses. It’s never “family”.

As a non-GT person, I saw that talented tech people left the company fairly quick, like they know their value and what they can do when they are not given new priorities after some leader makes a random comment each QBR. GT leaders at Nike succeed not by telling things as they are, but by over promising, knowing they’ll have a good excuse or no one will remember anyway in a few months.

I remember a case where a SD presented a plan and the resources needed for a project, and when presenting this his VP jumped and said that they didn’t need more resources, they could do it with what they had and everyone clapped at her….. the part she didn’t mention is that the next day his SD was telling stakeholders everything he was de-prioritising to deliver on her promise. That was his life, very frustrating and he took a lot of the accountability.

@1mof is that you, MD? DA? JH? FK?

GT is broken for a decade. And the recent hires are def not helping.

People come here complain bc in GT, if you speak up, you are walked out of the door with an excuse.

The company should just take a check on the credentials of these people who take on role without any experience and do an exodus

There’s an overwhelming number of threads on this forum addressing GT. It’s probably the same person complaining and creating multiple threads. Maybe he/she isn’t wrong, but I’m getting tired of reading these GT su-ks threads that have zero constructive criticism or insights.

Maybe it needs to go to India because everyone here feels they should work half as much for twice and as much and deliver a fraction of the value. Check that privledge!

Jump Jump Jump, Just Do It before this new crop of fake leaders send all work to India and pretend everything is great.

There was another thread where feedback was super positive. Was there another meeting? You all are confusing and bi-polar.

This is what happens when cronyism & nepotism trump skill & merit. You end up with a bunch of clowns celebrating each other’s incompetence. The mo--ns su-king up to them is too much to take and should be published for all to see and laugh at. Anyone in tech with an ounce of talent & self respect should be looking to jump this sinking ship before the inevitable next round of layoffs.
