Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Verizon AKA Blockbuster

You guys know what happened to Blockbuster right?

Who knows the CEO that brought down Ericcson?

Ok, I gave you enough clues... Good Luck!

ps
how is your billing system?
how short staff is your store?
how high and ridiculous is your quota?

Who's your next SM a 19-year-old who likes to snitch on coworkers only to kiss GM' AS-S .

The surveys word graphs showing trust makes me think the word trust is in there but not in a flattering way. I wonder if “Trust is something I no longer have” is picked up onky as trust and they see that as a positive.

We need to be careful with our verbatims so that a single word alone wont be misunderstood.

You can follow the stores going union on twitter. @vzwunion Good content to keep up on what they aren't telling you about for obvious reasons. They are bargaining currently I believe

@1mlj+1h7nEFX4 our management told us the same thing too. That if we didn't like the way they were abusing us then we should quit and work somewhere else. Know what happened? We unionized instead and now those clowns are looking for somewhere else to work because they don't work for the company anymore.

@1ava+1h7nEFX4 that's acting under the presumption that Verizon didn't get a boat load of money from the government to not lay off or fire their workforce. Stop thinking that keeping you employed during the "pandemic" was a favor. I had several friends and my SO that made more then me on pandemic unemployment with out base at risk. Most everyone took a pay cut for those two years (yay but at least we were employees) only to take another cut coming out of the pandemic (comp changes) also people are saying it's blockbuster because of how grossly mismanaged this company is.

Anybody who compares Verizon to Blockbuster lacks any knowledge of Verizon or economy. During the early months of pandemic, Verizon shut down almost all the corporate stores. A few stores that were open only provided emergency services. I was in one of these stores. We almost not let anyone into the store. Everybody did their services online, care, telesales, etc. Verizon survived. Actually, there was only a small drop in total revenue. The point is that Verizon has now a multi channel business model. Verizon does not solely rely on retail to survive. Pandemic proved that Verizon can shut down entire retail channel and can still survive. Verizon is in transition to move away from retail to online company. How long this transition will take? 5 years, 10 years? But slow process of shutting down unprofitable stores and converting corporate store to third party stores have started already.

Its true. Its embarrassingworking in our retail stores. Nothing works and every day I go into work I get so angry. I just tell it like it is to customers. The money trickles up now days. I make $8k less than when I started here 7 years ago and the systems were bad then too. You'd think they'd fix them by now but somehow they're worse. This place will suck the soul right out of you if your not careful. And if you complain the only thing leadership will say to you is "if you don't like it then quit, go work somewhere else"

That's fine. When I get done school, I will quit and work somewhere else that treats their employees better. I look forward to being incentivised again. #goatpinsdontpaybills

Our store is hurting this week due to pos 2.0 fu----g up so much. I have never seen it this bad and noone fixes it. Noone fixes anything! The commission is pure trash! The systems are so faulty that you can't even finish ringing up accessories or God forbid do accessories with an upgrade in b360... now they want us to be scheduled for a dm meeting on our days off (one hour early morning) that's cool didn't want to sleep on my morning off. This company is slowly making me and most of my fellow employees want to try less, telling customers why our systems are so jacked up that it takes us forever to complete their transaction. What ki--s me is upper leadership are sitting there patting themselves on the back, so lost in what the reality is in the stores. Also don't get me started on phone reps passing you to wrong departments because they didn't want to do an easy job. Got passed off for a locked iPhone trade in 6 times before I got 1 competent csr phone rep that got it done in 2 minutes! This company used to be awesome to work for but now it's a dumpster fire.

90 percent of the people in my store only knew the last commission structure that took your money from bad surveys. So they aren't really complaining.

I’ve watched in agony the last two months in where our store has averaged 200-300 less in the monthly commission. The same specialists who get 5’s on the CR have all gotten 3’s these past two months. Factually speaking every store in our district has averaged a 20% or more loss in payout since the new structure. How can anyone be ok with this ?
