Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Steals Employees 401k Savings

SAD but true, lost more than ~$50 grands to VZ and no one answer phone or email.

I was a VZ employee since 2015 and until 2018, i was just not on the list of RIF announced Nov 2017 in SJC vzlabs campus. But we all were job less no work assigned and entire campus is empty with IPTV layoff, all projects shutdown. Employees helping each other with mock interviews and preparation.

It was a sick place, i choose to leave - heard that VZ wants all my hard earned retired savings money since i am short of 3 months to complete 3 years.

So $50 grand goes forfeited and VZ HRs were useless and false promised that i would get all the money earlier.

VZ s---s....stay away...

VZW can only take the 6% match they put in plus any interest it made over that time. If they made 100k a year. At almost 3 years plus some interest can't be more than 23k total. For them to take 50k, salary had to be about 250k plus a year. From the writing I doubt that was their salary. When you log into your 401k it clearly shows your vested and non-vested balance. Should have waited till 3 full years before leaving.

You don't have to know the gender of the OP

or the gender of 1ijz to know they are both idiots.

$50 grand(s) in less than 3 years? Max 401k contribution is only $18k a year so your English as a second langauage story isn't adding up.

Maybe go home? The bay area is not afforble because of you people. We are all stocked up on foreigners. Thanks.

Sorry but Verizon didn't steal anything from you. Verizon may be alot of things but they have always made it very clear that you are vested AFTER 3 years of service. Not 2 years and 9 months. This one's on you bro.

So you made a decision to leave before you were vested and now it is the company's fault. Why didn't you just wait 3 months to leave. I don't feel sorry for you and your poor decision making.

OP - This totally makes no sense. Your 401K contributions cannot be touched by VZ, the same goes to matches.

What's the issue?

You didn't lose your contributions. You lost company match which has a 3 yearn requirement.
