@1eq Sounds like HR achieved their objectives for the year. Would you like to submit feedback?

I'm getting tired of these threads. Layoff rumors are useless. They fill the gaps where truth should be, turning misunderstandings into stories people start to need to believe. Fear spreads fast when context goes missing. A glance, a tone, or a moment gets misread, and suddenly no one is reacting to what happened; they are reacting to what they think it meant. Before long, the story outgrows the facts. Managers start managing optics, coworkers trade looks, and the truth quietly disappears under the weight of assumption. It is rarely about malice; most of the time it is about comfort. It is easier to hold onto a story than face a simple truth. But when perception becomes policy, decency gets replaced by fear, and people stop seeing each other as human beings.

People are not asking for sympathy, just fairness. Fairness should protect both the person who feels uneasy and the one quietly judged by assumption. We all deserve the chance to be seen for who we are, not for what someone else decided must be true. The real question is what really happened. Was it a sketchy start, or did fear just turn it that way? Are we still responding to an event that actually signaled layoffs, or to a story we needed to stay true? Integrity means being brave enough to find out without the fear mongering.

Step back for a second and ask what really happened. Do we actually know it means layoffs, or is it possible this all started as a miscommunication and a failure to check assumptions? Things feel sketchy, but are they really that bad? The economy is steady, the market is strong, earnings are up, and even the big EV panic seems to have calmed overnight. Maybe the sky is not falling. Maybe the story just got louder than the facts. Are we really in danger, or were we ever? I am not saying things are certain, and there will always be ambiguity, but we have to learn to live with that without panicking or snowballing it into chaos. Many of us are naturally anxious, and that is understandable. It is often that same anxiousness about the future and our security that drove us to work hard and get where we are today, but letting that feeling impact how we interact with each other is not acceptable.

@aa And then it will be the week after that, and then the following Monday and so on and so on. If this person keeps repeating this over and over it may come true in the next 5-10 years so this person can than say "I told you so."

Just do what you can, where you can. DO NOT burn the midnight oil for this company. Thier engines burn plenty of oil for everyone, lol. 8 and skate...why? Because you'll get more to do for the same pay if you show any kind of initiative. Being permanently behind is a way of life at Ford. However, I have coworkers with nothing to do (or very little). Maybe its lack of confidence in thier abilities. Either way what are they doing there if they can be go letters during thier 8 hours? Drones should be fired or outsourced.

@ab what? i am only checking this site for the first time right now apart from around 6am when someone posed as me and crashed out hoping my defense to something would get deleted by the mods in the middle of their rage. i dont wish bad and im not trying to spread misery around. i have stalkers that are trying to hurt me because they feel no repercussion, similar to how ford did when they lied about everything and then punished me after i dropped receipts internally.. but i digress. either you fell for misinformation, or you are the misinformation.

They are getting nervious because they know projects for model E , EVs, FNV4 are fiasco , and doing something or nothing is never secure in the company anymore. Yet, we haven't seen anything big like in 2008.
