Last week I posted that if we are required to physically go back to the office a majority of the time my resume would go online within an hour of getting that news.
Promise kept. As of 10 minutes ago and for the first time in over a decade I am now officially a new job seeker on Ziprecruiter, Indeed and LinkedIn. As fate would have it I also found what appears to be a sweet opportunity with a large organization in Vancouver, WA. That position is 100% remote on a permanent basis and I’m genuinely excited to have submitted my resume today!
I thought I’d be upset about today’s announcement but the opposite is true. Although this may sound odd I feel like with today’s news Nike finally gave me a good reason to leave. It gave me the kick in the rear I needed to remind myself “I’m very good at what I do and another organization that better respects how I do my best work will be extremely happy to have me.”
I’m kind of giddy and excited to be back in the job market! And for the first time ever I’ll be in the national job market since I’m only applying for 100% remote jobs. I made a bet with my wife that it’ll take less than 2 months before I have an offer letter in my email. And I was hedging because I don’t think it’ll even take that long.
I haven’t even left Nike yet and it’s like a huge weight has already been lifted off my shoulders. Good days ahead!
