Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Recently Laid Off?

If you have been recently laid off, interested to hear how it played out? 1. How did you find out (mail or FedEx first, your manager, etc)? 2. Did you get 60 days notice? 3. Are you working during notice period or locked out? 4. What group were you in?

Current employee on edge, just wanting to know what to maybe expect. Thanks.

@1jnl I’m sorry to hear that; thank you for sharing. It sounds like it went as smoothly as it could have I guess. I’m glad you found a good place to land.

Has anyone seen if WF filed WARN notices for the states or Fed like they are supposed to??

My Manager told me and the next day a package came. I was told and knew it was coming. It hurts. Most of my team know they are being moved to India. I gave this everything I had and came up short. Fortunately for me I have landed safely. I don’t think OP is trolling. Maybe they are really just asking.

Given the WARN. Notice and was told my down line managers could handle my duties and I would not need to report back if I did not want to.

OP, no way do I believe you are an employee trying to get info. because you are nervous. Not sure who you are, you actually sound like a reporter :)

My manager told me (but I’d also asked for a package). By law, they have to give you your 60 day WARN notice. I negotiated to keep it working for the full time because I’m more valuable with competitive info about WF. But I honestly did the bare minimum work necessary and spent most of my time working on my next job. I was in Wholesale.

The only thing I would do different is to ask to leave sooner. There’s a significant amount of stress on you not knowing if you’ll have a job, dealing with all the chaos, constant re-orgs, etc. not that I’m away with a good job (at a competitor), I’m so glad to be gone.

Best wishes on your journey.
