Thread regarding United Healthcare layoffs

Just a thought

hink it’s time someone asks the real questions that so many of us on the Medicare/Medicaid Member Services and Provider Services side of UnitedHealth Group are afraid to say out loud.

What is actually going on?
How much longer will any of us have jobs here in the United States?
Why can’t leadership just be transparent with us about the future instead of leaving entire teams in a constant state of uncertainty?

Every day we hear rumors, see teams shrinking, and watch responsibilities shift with no clear explanation. Many of us have built years of our lives around this company, serving members and providers with everything we have. We deserve honesty. We deserve communication. We deserve clarity about what direction this organization is taking and what it means for the people who keep it running.

How many of us are even left in the U.S. doing this work?
And why is it so hard to get straightforward information?

We’re not asking for miracles—just truthful communication and respect for the workforce that shows up every day despite the stress, fear, and unanswered questions.

UnitedHealth Group, we need answers.
We deserve transparency.
And we deserve better than silence.

Info on reorgs?
I keep hearing mentions and whispers of reorgs. Anyone have insight to that? What areas are involved and when?

@1jf I just saw this, and it definitely aligns with the AI in the 411 alert for providers starting 1-1-26. It’s quite surprising!

The goal for 2027 is for all operational teams to be AI and BOT driven. Most of us will lose our jobs in 2026.Not only UHC, but all payers have similar models with 2027 being the target.

Does cutting the 401k match via an unsigned email fall under compassion or integrity?

Finally some employees who are insightful. Now you got the gist of it. For all the employees who actually think this bunch of snake oil salesman actually care about Americans lives or their health. They are all from wallstreet. They are in it for the cash. But thank god the American people are waking up.

just for fun, imagine this fake scenario: you run a business. people don't get to choose if they want to buy your product or not. it's actually against the law for them not to buy your product. so the profit you make is divorced from having to deliver a functioning product. as an exercise, imagine if you didn't care about morality, fairness, or doing the right thing, at all. what would be the point of keeping an expensive workforce to create your product running when you could have a cheaper workforce? even if they do a much worse job. what incentive would you have to keep those expensive people? what incentive would you have to tell them you are trying to replace them? remember, you don't care about morality, fairness, or doing the right thing. instead you only care about making more money. it's funny to make up little scenarios like this in your brain just to fill the time.

if you could hear the way they talk about us behind closed doors your tone would be very different. you are trying to be your best. qualified, experienced, humble, honest. they play dirty. corporate businessmen are snakes and don't have your best interest in mind, their community's best interest in mind, nor the country's best interest in mind. their one concern is living in comfort and amassing as many assets as possible with zero other considerations
