Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Out of control

Folks , this leadership is out of control. 3 years at Fiserv, told to move to BH like all of you, I sent a rejection email to my manager and a resignation. Not too much invested in this company like you and not willing to watch this Jerry Springer show. They counter offered by keeping me safe for 1 years remote, extending to 18 months as contractor and a higher salary. WTF?

I declined , I need to reset and get out of this sh-t show. They are all drunk.

IF they give any severance at all, the min amount is for someone just starting, or not enough years to earn 2 weeks per year to equal 10 weeks, meaning 5 years of service or less gets the min amount. 26 weeks is the cap for 13 years or more with the company. Gibbons scoffed at the question of severance amounts when asked. So I'm not counting on it. Technically they are not required to give anything, they make the rules.

For non-manager salary employees:

10 - weeks "minimum" severance.
26 - weeks "maximum" severance.

They can change the rules at any time and give you zero severance.

I don't understand what they mean by "minimum" severance. Are they just going to pick a number between 10 and 26 for employees who have been here for five years?

@1hgp+1oCEhK6g is correct. They've "tweaked" the severance policy in the last 6-8 months to whittle it way way down. I had heard earlier this year the severance budget was basically blown. Necessitated an overhaul to it so they could pay way less or nothing at all.

Bottom line, if you are a person who was told relocate or terminate and your plan is to sit and wait for some huge severance check, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Be proactive, not reactive and find a different job. Leave on your own terms.

@1rce+1oCEhK6g - Take a look at the Severance plan as it reads today, especially page 6 Company Discretion section under General Provisions. They can give us nothing legally and get away with it. Looks like rank and file is capped at 10 weeks now too. Don’t bank on 26 weeks even if you e been here forever.

Official Fiserv severance policy is two week per year of service capped out at 13 years (26 weeks).

That doesn't mean they will honor their own policy.

Six month severance? Are they telling people that? Last I heard it had been cut way way down. They put a cap at like 10 or 12 weeks.

Honesty, its a pervasive and cynical approach to people. The machine expects everyone to do as directed. If you won't accept the benevolent offer to move to Valhalla/BH/Lincoln, then they expect you to gratefully cling to whatever severance plan they can dream up...."safe for a year" is insultingly laughable and not worth a cent. They will not hesitate to term you early if there are "too many" hangers on. Every offer and counteroffer is carefully premised with "no promises" disclaimers. Mindless disruption to so many people's lives...not to mention any pretending to business continuity or client servicing. Sickening. The company has more than shown its hand. Disrespect me and I walk. How in the name of all that is holy did this id--t get this much power?

Anyone who goes back, make sure you keep years of service, vacation time (if eligible), and make sure about how much you have to pay back in severance. Have them put it in writing. For good measure, talk to an employment attorney before signing anything.

You can't trust anything our leadership says. Absolutely nothing. Plan as if your last day is around the corner and don't be fooled by promises of a retention bonus.
They laid off my manager one year after he moved to BH to keep his job and and it wasn't because of a bad performance. he was loved by everyone including clients. totally sickening

They can't make up their mind. After being remote for years with no local office, I got the relocate or get out notice with a pretty sizeable bonus to stay and train my replacement. I turned it down and put my notice in and they came back with an offer to stay remote permanently, a raise and 50% of my salary as a retention bonus. All of which I turned down. I was already permanently remote and didn't trust they wouldn't take it away in the future. You're right, it's nothing but chaos and it doesn't make any sense.

Let's see how long they want to play games and drag their feet. I might have a new job by the time they offer me any details. Not bluffing.
