Thanks AO,
I am a nerd that leads naturally (IC). It's really that lady who spoke up who should get the complements. The nerds out number the jocks, we should be banning together and empowering each other. So, if you nerds have skip levels speak up. If you can break through the townhall walls to ask questions, do it. We nerds do have the majority in changing the culture enspite of the jocks.
And for the wah and full remotes who want to come back, next time you get a HR survey speak the truth in the feedback comments.
After the UHC as----------n healthcare won't be that trendy anymore. They should be grateful for the majority nerds who are in the trenches.
Be safe hybrid and in-office even the majority nerds can be targeted at the office. The security guards probably don't get paid fairly or bonuses either.
It might be wise to take down your real photos from LinkedIn as well just like our CEO and President. Unlike them we can't afford security guards.

🫡Thanks AO and benefit of doubt

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response to my very long post. I appreciate your perspective! I think we can agree on most points........AND in the areas where we don't agree - I just always try to give the benefit of the doubt.

Great post. Agree that post merger Aetna suffered. 3specially with the rul3s governing the PBM and data.

It's people like you who can make a difference. Hopefully you are in a Leadership role. There's laid off people who want to come back but have to remotely.

To the guy that praised bertolini....he's the one that threw aetna under the bus. Sold us to CVS, took his millions and rode off into the sunset leaving us with tons of layoffs and a triple digit stock that's now $56

How much do you want to bet on the stock market Steve Nelson business model will be like his former employer UnitedHealthcare rejection rates for claims and prior authorization. Watch and see Aetna will climb the denials reports. That's how they will grab back the 2 billion and then some.

@1heq+1vOp8kWO Thank you for your reply. I am going to agree and disagree with you.
I am long term Aetna employee as well. Long enough to know pre acquisition culture and business model and post acquisition culture and business model. Both culture and business model changed and not for the betterment of Aetna as a healthcare company nor for it's employees at all levels.😕😔
When you have healthcare CEOs making deals with acquisitions to play with stock market to make their billions - millions, "buy and dump" 😞. It's corruption at the top with no business model for those below. They are in it for themselves and nobody else. Hence the 30% bonsus for everyone else and 100% for themselves plus their shares. They will always win, there's zero motivation to have a healthy productive business model.
Theses latest good old boys club are just the latest cover on a magazine and have yet to prove anything differently. Give it two years and see if the bonuses are fair, if the stock market is no longer a yo-yo factor in a business model, and the stops are in place for insider trading and acquisitions dumping.
Far as RTO, the CEO and President has left it in a gray zone which reflects poor decision making. Leaving it at the whims of bosses.
If they were truly serious about having a buffet (hybrid, in office, wah same state, full remote anywhere lower 48) there would be a social media campaign.
I have yet to see this new model reflected in the reqs. Which is as speak turning away talent for all the tech WAH and full remote.
As someone mentioned below these townhalls are nothing but a prep rally for the jocks on the platform flashing there couple thousand suites and thousands of dollars watches, bragging about whatever's with a full budget for the jocks to "play football" with meanwhile the nerds have to attend the rallies to cheer them on and then go back to their low budget classes to figure out how the he-l they're going to make it all work. Just so they can be told next year you won't be paid fairly nor have a bonus like the jocks.

In response as to why I feel hopeful with the new leadership. I’ve been an Aetna employee for over 20 yrs and in that time we’ve had some great leadership. Once we were bought out by CVS, the culture went down the drain. In my opinion Larry Merlo was a snake and was clueless as to how to manage a healthcare company. He got rid of Marc Bertolini who was extremely smart. I feel like that was the beginning of the end. Laurie Havranek and Brian Kane were a joke. Harmonization was a disaster, RTO was a disaster, they took away bonuses for the lowest paid workers who are actually on the front lines and dealing with our members every day. Meanwhile Laurie was touting how taking nice vacations with her grown kids and grandchildren was ‘wildly important’ to her. No one cares about her flipping vacations while the lowest paid workers can’t afford to feed their families. Then there was the decision to hire an executive from Cigna who was in a non-complete agreement (they should have checked that prior to making her an offer) and now we’re paying her 10 million dollars to sit home and NOT work EVEN if she decides not to work for us in 2 yrs. WHO DOES THAT?
During the ‘Karen’ town halls, she wasn’t transparent. At every town hall she’d tell us how great things were going and how our ‘strategy’ was working…..until it came to paying out for all the ‘great’ work we’ve done all year. Then apparently, we didn’t meet a ‘super secret’ target that we didn’t even know existed. It was all a bunch of bull sh-t in an effort to NOT fund our bonuses or pay us appropriately. Our stock is in the toilet and at the end of the day, the buck stops with Karen. She went on a spending spree and we’re all paying the price. I could go on and on about the incompetence.
Fast forward to our new leadership. I feel as though they’re committed to turning this ship around. I’m sure they’re still scratching their heads wondering HOW our prior leadership could have fu---d up so bad so I’m sure it’ll take time to see the results. I think we now have smart people who are working together for a common cause. David Joyner, Steve Nelson and Heidi Capozzi all have an excellent track record. I like the fact that they’re having so many town halls and keeping us updated as to what’s going on. In the past all we got was lip service. They are being transparent that our bonuses are going to su-k. Not good news but they’re being honest. They decided against the RTO mandate and left it up to the individual leadership. I feel like they’re going to focus on what’s important and get rid of the things that don’t matter and improve the culture. With a better culture, comes better results.

Town halls are nothing more than corporate pep rallies in my opinion. It's all "Rah Rah go team", softball questions, stupid "inspirational" cr-p trying to look like they care, executives trying to be funny but not funny, and other irrelevant stuff. I'm guessing the woman who actually asked a tough question, is only because she slipped through the cracks of their otherwise carefully scripted corporate event. An event designed to simply prop up the company and make it look good, even when it's not.

I thought Tilak Mandadi looked and behaved the most professional. I thought he gave a good presentation of the app. He dressed modestly and didn't have a 20k watch on.
I am still hopeful for Tilak Mandadi, he's been better than the others in his position. Can you honestly remember who was before him and what they did? Because I don't.
I know am going to get the wacko racist and political nuts whiplash on here but I don't care racist trolls.

Theres nothing woke or dei about not hiring Americans. If anything you’d think whatever weird dei obsession you have would come only after ONLY Americans are being hired into American companies. I say hire diverse if it’s on shore talent. This company also treats everyone like sh-t my colleagues being black or g-y didn’t save them from layoffs.

@nbw+1vOp8kWO, care to expand on your statements? How does this new leadership make you happy and what made you unhappy with the older leadership? What made you hopeful by this new townhall?

I actually like our new leadership team. It just goes to show how dysfunctional the old leadership was and it wasn't all in our heads for being so unhappy. I now have hope for the company.

I am so happy someone brought up the Ghost jobs and agencies 😁😉. I bet she didn't give a sh-t because she's retiring or resigning.
Did you notice they're wearing at least 20k watches? But ya ya we all did so well 2024 👀

Post ID: @znn+1vOp8kWO, you just couldn't contain yourself, could you? No one said anything at the town hall even remotely related to "woke" or DEI. I'm sure you're probably the same person who looks for any excuse to post this nonsense here every 5 minutes. You have serious issues, dude.

One breath they tell you the majority of our members are older. Next breath is our members love this new app. No they don't, they want a human being. Stop the woke and dei cr-p and put some boundaries on offshore. Greed at the top is the cause of the downfall. Be accountable for God's sake.

It’s like they try to not to talk about anything important…job security and compensation. Nothing else matters. If you don’t address that nothing will get better. That is what makes you the employer of choice. My Executive Director did not even share survey results. What does that tell you?
