I’m not seeing anything in the news about lay off within Wells Fargo but seeing google laid off 1000.

If you didn't get a raise and got less bonus than usual, you will be laid off this year.

It's funny how no one ever looks at the guys getting paid millions / year in HY, that produce no profits or other benefits, and comes to the conclusion that THEY should be fired in the name of efficiency.

Seems like horizontal COO functions embedded in business groups are on the chopping block as they continue to both centralize those functions under Enterprise COO and offshore the roles. The problem is someone has to pick up these people’s work immediately, neither of those groups are ready to do it, and the layoffs are coming in the first half of this year. So the employees left behind are stuck holding the bag, especially with the current approach to the 60 day non-working notice. Good luck to all.

Our group had relaxed RTO but that was rescinded today. Manager also said that remote workers and being asked to return to the office or reapply for an exception. Maybe it’s not Tuesday but it’s coming for sure.

Where are you getting your information on a big lay off on Tuesday?????

+ Some layoffs will be scheduled to occur on other days of the week.
+ March will be big.
+ Remote reductions will be prioritized even when headcount efficiency is the goal (to get two birds with one stone).
+ if there are not enough remote resources to meet efficiency goals, in-office resources will be selected. Good leaders will keep their most valuable resources. Bad leaders will keep their friends and brown-nosers.
+ A high importance of your work won’t save you - leaders are being forced to be more efficient and to do more with less.
+ Some markets are significantly over capacity (despite low RTO compliance) and some who are remote in those markets will be displaced rather than being asked to start coming in.
+ Tech is affected.
+ Even India is not safe from efficiency motivated staff reduction despite open roles in many areas.

I’m thinking the future in staff reductions is going to be gifted to those who are remote.

HY: it's SUPER important that people are in-office to interact with our coworkers and therefore no one can WFH full time.

Also HY: most of your coworkers will be fired and its perfectly ok that their replacements are 9000 miles away and you'll never see them in your life.

Please let it be before the next required cringey “get to know me/each other” meeting that I am forced to partake in.

I am begging.

Please! Let it be Oregon! It probably won't be as they know we are productive enough to help while our replacements are training. We are ready for the mental break but want our servrence so will continue to wait.
