Due to circumstances outside of my control, I am interviewing for a Band 7 role (currently band 6). If I get an offer, am I likely to keep the same salary or could I possibly have to take a pay cut? Current base is $114K.

one tip, look to see if there is a similar job in Colorado (there are a few other states too might have to search for that information) where they have to show the min/max salary for the job

The OP salary would take a pay cut. How do I know? I did the same thing to get away from a specific team. Went from a “Mgr” to a Consultant. Was on the lower end of the Mgr band 6 so the hit was too bad, a few hundred per month. Best move I did because 1 yr later I got on to a different team as a Mgr. What did hurt was the band 6 STI and RSU. That was several thousands.
Your salary will not be reduced, although your next base pay increase may be small or none depending on where your current salary is in relation to your new payline. You will definitely take a hit on your STI and Stock Together.
The big hit most likely be the STI and the new stock together grants. I’m a 7 and make more so depending on the role you might not take too much of a salary hit if at all.
You will definitely take a pay cut. They will evaluate your new salary with your old and along that of your peers. If you get lucky, you can come in at top of the band. But also means minimal annual increases. Also band title have different scales too. Not all jobs within the band are equal. A Client Executive and a Acct Mgr are all band 7, but CE makes more. Same with Consultants vs Senior Analyst .
