Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Ma------a testing different states.

I was recently offered a new position in a state where ma------a has not been legalized. I am coming from a state where it is. The offer letter states I may be dr-g tested. As an internal hire will I be tested?

I hope you accepted the offer and got the card. D-mb rule for a book company.

Yes.

The company does not want to consume it regardless of the status (or prescription).

I am not saying it's right or wroing, that's the rule they want to impose.

My husband works for a company that distributes metal and they have the same rule (imagine being high and operating heavy machinery or moving tons of steel)

Just tell your HR rep and be upfront. They will just need a pic of your medical card. Don't listen to the old heads... it's a new world they don't understand.

Yep. I just had a team lead promoted to an ASM at another location in the same state and they had to test.

Hope things have changed with new owners. In the past a failed dr-g test would have been brought to HR and business leads on floor nine, where policy, values and the changing political climate of ma------a use would be discussed and your future weighed. Your reputation as a stoner would be set if they kept you, and hold you back from future roles with expanded span of control. Sounds surreal, right?

Any ideas on how to stall I haven’t accepted yet. But I need to test within 3 days of accepting. Offer doesn’t last forever.

Yes, you will be tested because Follett is behind the times. Purchase a test from CVS and give yourself 30 days and then test yourself. HR will sometimes prolong the retest if you fail, however, with new ownership/leadership, that may not happen any longer. Stall, stall, stall…

Most days you have to be high to put up with the things we do. Can’t be worse than TL drunk everyday acting as CEO.

A ridiculous dilemma.
Maybe go to a physician to obtain a prescription for that nervous tic caused by this situation. Most states have medical.

I know a store manager that changed stores last year and they were required to take a test. It was within the same state and they were told that everyone had to do it. It is possible that only certain positions have to do it or certain people. This person did not come off as someone who would fail though. Also, this was in a legal state.

I've transferred a number of times and have never been dr-g tested. I don't personally know anyone in this company who has. Do they really dr-g test at all?
