Let us hope all this DEI nonsense leaves together with her

With MM gone…maybe EH should summon those deeply buried employee engagement surveys to get a feel for the real work that needs to be done now.

It’s great news for the company that MM is gone.

However, I hope they bring in an experienced HR executive from the outside the tear down and rebuild the entire HR function. Many of Nike’s current issues are due to people leadership, reward & recognition and culture. HR has been broken for years. It’s time to build a world class HR function.

You all seem to forget the MP era which I’m assuming everyone wants to get back to. HR was super dysfunctional then with significant amount of decisions made in vacuum on a “need to know basis”. Wonder why everything was so confusing and always hidden? Because DA kept it that way, MM just kept the train going but knew she had to manage differently because of the anger within the HR community.

MM wasn’t great but wasn’t god awful (DA) but that isn’t a hard bar to clear. I really hope TH took lessons from the MM era and will apply them. From what I saw she did in talent, it was the old Nike I know of. The one that says everything is high importance without any clear direction with the classic ‘just get it done’ mentality with the name dropping.

I fear, we’re in for more dysfunction within HR with a new set of friends of TH. But that’s the Nike we know and love, it’s how we were successful… right? (Big Shrug…)

I also hope they don’t bring back all those old HR leaders, please god no. I saw some people drop some initials and I wanted to vomit in my trash can. If you don’t work in HR or were in HR, first off stay out, if you were already complaining, you definitely complain now. Last I want is more negativity. Two, don’t come back, talking you all prior to ‘22 and post ‘13. That era, don’t come back… I’m sure you all are successful at Walmart or Microsoft, intel, whatever. Just don’t come back and bring your old Nike sprint. We’re at least now finally head in a direction that may make sense.

I think that is up to EH.

He doesnt seem like the kind of guy who would let executives brownnose their way to his inner circle without delivering results unlike mr "accountability" JD.

The question is whether or not TH has the backbone to make tough decisions.
The talent function needs to be blown up and redone. Does she have the courage to make this happen? More importantly, does she have the right team? She has people who talk big but really lack the experience.

Now do MD! LFG!!!!

Poor MM only sold $19,854,000 of stock in the past two years. Hope she can still put food on the table.

@1fhx+1vFeaiUL genuinely curious as you seem really knowledgeable, if neither TH or outside leader would help, what then do you think the solution is… or even the problem for that matter?

TH should first take out the PS Mafia - MA, MM, DM, KLD. Last one is worst - poison of the worst type.

Let's hope Venky's next. He's done more damage to Nike than MM.

why just MM ? EH should revamp entire HR/ER/TA.
HR has increased toxicity, protected bad leaders, and Nike has lost good talent .
And this internal mess is no secret to the market either.

Listen to Sam Poser's comment from a few months ago where he talks about why Nike comeback is harder/different time around. It's not only product but also talent Nike has lost.

Lot of good talent still works here at Nike, but over the last 10 some years, bad has exceeded the good. The engagement surveys, Forbes rating are all telling the story of Nike culture to the outside world.

I believe TH will help EH make Nike what it once was. Shes already way better than MM so I put my trust in those two.

TH has been telling her cronies for the last two months that she is getting the role. Nice way to repay MM who promoted her several times and gave her the Chief Talent Officer role after TH back stabbed FM. TA is broken, DEI and JS antics were when he reported to TH, Talent Management leaders - 3 in 3 years. What has she done in her role to justify the promotion other than throwing people under the bus.

Didn’t love MM but she was better than DA. However, MM was an ineffective leader, she would say one thing, do the opposite then ask for forgiveness. But it would continue to happen. HR Modernization was one of those. Say we were going to help people, improve their experience and give career development for people in HR instead of letting talent walk out the door.

What she did instead was layoff several key players, put the wrong people on the program to start, then told us to hurry up and go. This then didn’t achieve the better experience, or prevent people from walking out of Nike Hr, or give us career development.

Not many in HR will miss her but I’m not sure much will change with TH. I also don’t think bringing in an outside leader will help. Regardless, I hope TH can prove me wrong but I sense the same as before.

Nike should be an amazing place to work. The culture internally should reflect what is portrayed externally. A strong culture should foster innovation and creativity. A place where people feel inspired to do their best work, to give it their all. The disengagement is at an all time low. We thought MM would be better than DA, but the toxicity continued. Hope TH can help EH dig us out of this hole.

If anyone believes Treasure is an upgrade - you are mistaken. Do not be fooled by her niceness. Treasure was MM’s partner in crime on all things.

Not sure how effective TH it will be, but at least she’s a nice person. Of all the options at Nike, this was the best choice. So glad it’s not BB. That guy is just downright dirty.

MM is a terrible human who was manipulative and self serving. Ruined the Nike HR team. Good bye!

MM served MM and people like MM only. For years and years. She fired so many good people that stood up to her nonsense. What are we on, our 9th chief diversity officer in 7 years. She hires that position. Hopefully BB will follow her out the door too.
