Open Enrollment info for laid off employees?

Open enrollment for 2024 benefits starts tomorrow. Has anyone who has been laid off and is eligible to enroll in 2024 medical benefits, etc. received ANY information from Wells about Open Enrollment?

For severance period employees that started severance during 2023 that continues into 2024:

  1. You were likely unenrolled from your 2024 medical plan election - if so, your 2024 FSA election would have automatically been unenrolled
  2. There is a dedicated HR Support team working on notification for those who do not call in. A member of this team can re-enroll your 2024 medical plan. A member of the BAU HR benefits team can re-enroll your 2024 FSA plan
  3. A new elections confirmation statement will be sent via USPS

I was told that my new medical insurance card would arrive before Jan 1st.

Thanks @Zdun+1p9taIH8. I haven't called yet to confirm the status of mine but completely agree re: risk of a class action suit. Also, state insurance commissioners may find the situation interesting.

I'm in my severance period. I can't speak for others, but I called about benefits this morning and confirmed that my benefit elections were accepted (they'd appeared back in November to have been cancelled, which was puzzling, but I immediately signed back up when I noticed it at the time). That being said, I was told I won't get my new insurance card until early January despite going into effect January 1.

Benefits being cancelled on people en masse and insurance cards being delivered late is a class action just waiting to happen. I hope no one is negatively affected aside from the inconvenience.

Your medical and FSA benefit elections were canceled. I also received confirmation of my Oct open enrollment elections via mail but received nothing about my cancelation and short window severance open enrollment. I have to call next week too. I would have been oblivious if I hadn't logged into WD yesterday, my last day as an employee. I didn't submit anything since I have a couple of questions.

I did notice in my FedEx account that a label was created by WF on Feb 8th to send me a 2.5# package. If related, they need to put it in the hands of FedEx to get it to me.

Overall, this is a critical miss and can be grounds for legal action against the company.

So I, a former employee, read a LinkedIn post this morning from another former employee whose benefits were cancelled and had to re-enroll. I personally received a benefits confirmation statement at the end of November, but I haven't received a new insurance card (Wells changed providers in my state), and the Benefits Support line isn't staffed on weekends. Since I'm in my severance period, the only thing I can access in Workday is paystubs. In short, I cannot very anything until next week.

I feel for anyone thinking they're insured but who find out they are not, especially during the upcoming months when seasonal illnesses run rampant. From a risk and reputation perspective, Wells needs to get on top of this.

I was displaced and have received nothing regarding benefits info. There is nothing in WorkDay. If we need to make new elections, and have received no info from WF, how is this legal?!

@1fap+1p9taIH8 not sure what point you are trying to make as open enrollment begins TODAY thru 11/9. displaced employees ARE eligible for health care benefits.

Benefits take effect Jan 1. If you have received notice already, you wouldn’t be on the payroll come Jan 1, so why would you enroll?

@1mub+1p9taIH8 glad to hear you received the notification in Workday...... I haven't yet.

I am among those who received no communication, notification, etc., whatsoever regarding open enrollment. However, I did find a message in my Workday inbox this morning.

No you don’t roll over to same coverage as 2023. Aetna- BCBS isn’t offered to anyone in 2024 and the HSA plan has changed as well. Everyone has to re-enroll in insurance for 2024

Laid off here, and see nothing in Workday about making benefits elections.

Not true. You
Must go online and re enroll for 2014 per HR. Otherwise coverage is dropped. Note new dates. They never bothered to send anything out to people on severance. They were hoping we would not find out and they could drop us! Another corrupt move on employees. Thank God for this site

I've received absolutely nothing at all. NOTHING. If it weren't for this site, I'd have known nothing about it.

@yyd+1p9taIH8 you'll make your selections online thru Workday. Enrollment begins 10/19 and ends 11/9. I had to make a few phone calls to get this info as nothing came via email or USPS. 3 new plans are being offered for 2024

BCBS is no longer the HRA provider in my state. United Healthcare is the only option.

Wasn’t that for the period of time between the end of the 60 day notice period and the end of 2023? Pretty sure 2024 is another ball game as plans and rates have changed.
