Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoffs = more work for remaining staff; so SLOW DOWN....

If you didnt get at least a 20% pay raise and your boss dumped additional work on you then you are getting shafted.

I recommend looking up how to take leave (disability or family medical) or beginning a job search someplace else out of this place.

In mean time - just because you have more work doesnt mean there are more hours in the week.

SLOW DOWN.

Working faster and taking on more responsibilities wont be fairly compensated.

And ask your manager for specific prioritization every monday for the next 40 hours.
Ask for an update in the AM every day (did my priorities change?)

Keep a log.

You are not a charity - you dont do extra work for free - they are not a charity - they dont offer fair compensation for the new work they dumped on you.

If they dont like the speed at which things are getting done, let them know they can always hire more people.

And if there are skillsets you dont know that departing staff had? Request training- when management balks? Go to HR and tell them you are not getting the training you need to do your job.

This company su-ks.

Treat them like the menace they really are.

Yes, exactly. Really sorry to hear this happened, but thank you for sharing. I wrote the post about leave frequently being unpaid, and i alluded to the potential for other consequences (like you said, bad rating, or a low bonus, etc.). I always thought people could kind of just go on leave (paid) if they needed a break, but that's not the case at all. And i feel like people aren't made aware of how it works until you actually need to go on leave... and THAT'S when you learn that it's either not paid or will scr*w you over in other ways...ugh.

Like you said, just collect the paychecks. Take care of your house and family. If things get too bad, look for other options.

I almost died in a life-saving surgery but because I took leave, my first bad review after 27 years.

Please remember your house and don’t worry about this place.

I’m staying for my severance, but I’m also looking. I’m also doing a lot of training on my own in AI.

don't work so hard, feel entitled to your pay/

Sounds like you are advocating for a union!

organize and do this! I don't need my money being handled by layabouts......................

there are 100s of illegals that can count and handle money.,

Git Er' done!

Prioritization for the next 40 hours? I wish! My boss changes priorities intraday. They will interrupt me to drop everything for an urgent task and when done with it they will ask if the other task I dropped is done too.

A lot of people aren't aware that medical leave is often unpaid unless you are having a legitimate medical crisis (e.g. inpatient or intensive outpatient). Just mentioning this in case it's helpful to anyone, as the OP recommends it. Going on leave can also have other negative financial effects.

And when you can encourage others to leave, including clients and advisors, do so. That will mean less work
