Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Workplace Bullying

The group i am in is full of workplace bullying. This is not ideal situation for anyone nor does anyone deserve it. I personally had to get help from my family and friends to pull through this and i know others trying to get help.

I highly recomend you watch out for yourself and always have your own best interests first. No company is worth losing your health or family over. The company, theyre just not going to have your best interests at heart. It's an exhange of your time for money and just leave it at that, and never work yourself to death over some company beause they dont care about you and you shouldnt care too much about them either.

I can say for a fact the toxicity and bullying is worse here then any other workplaces i have worked. I think it will just get worse and worse as the competing begins between employees,i have some people in the group trying to get my ratings lower so they are kept. The main thing they should know while they may make it another year, after that they will have nothing and will be let go too. These jobs will not be in the US much longer or will be fully automated.

I personally am looking for a new job I can start in January after the holidays even though for now am still employedhere. Probably after this harrassment at work as it has been so bad, it will be good to just take time off for recovery so i can start fresh in a new career.

Layed off in January, and it was a relief while everything witin this thread is 100% true, sadly. Its taken me months to heal the very real ptsd I had from dealing with these horrid human beings. The problem as I saw it, is not the c-levels but the middle managers who are mostly self absorbed a-s kissing id--ts who will throw anyone under the bus to make themselves look good. And if you embrace ‘candor’ you go on the ‘inconsistently meets’ group, destined for layoff. I even sent an email to Charlie about this.

@1gek+17ImKqkF Too many HUGE egos here. Maybe the bullies don't have enough to do as the people they are bullying are doing all the work. Jealousy breeds contempt. What WF doesn't realize is the hard workers who are bullied end up leaving as no-one, not management or HR, stands up for them. No-one takes a stand as they don't want to stop their gravy flow. WF is a story term game with short term results. Everyone is in it for themselves, not the company, and certainly not towards positive company morale.

It's the worst at WF. Never seen so many self serving, obnoxious people. Stay away from Ops Risk, CCAR. Management turns a blind eye. Games people play due to the ratings and being "threatened" by high performers. Management should be supporting the high performers not back stabbing them.

Signs of Bully:

  1. Giving you all the assignments and picking on you for not completing them.
  2. Someone that has a lot of arrogance and don't listen to your recommendations.
  3. Someone that is constantly asking you to resign.
  4. Takes credit from your work and not giving any recognitions.
  5. Calling you about work in the middle of the night.
  6. Stalking everywhere you go and check how you doing or coming to get to you to do another assignment.
  7. Poorly training you.
  8. Use metrics to fire you.
  9. Two head snake personality.
  10. Making you work hard the last hour before you leave and go home.
  11. Making you do the hard labor outside of your responsibilities.
  12. Lack of respect. Does not see you as human being and don't treat you with respect.
  13. People from other departments telling you to watch out
  14. Creates confrontation out no where for no reason, for small little things.
  15. Someone that knows how that target people with manipulation.
  16. Someone that constantly screaming and yelling at you.
  17. Someone that changes your schedule every other week, or month.
  18. Someone miserable or unstable having child support, a lot of personal debt, life been unfair to them.
  19. Someone jealous of your accomplishments and see you as a threat for their position. For example: you are college educated and they are not.
  20. The perfect narcissist. Also whatchout for the circle of friends. Avoid working for a family own business.
  21. Someone that says: "All right, Here is what WE are going to do". The pronoun "we" does not exist. Its you doing it!
  22. Not happy with your performance, even though you are doing your job correctly.
  23. Look for the high turnover numbers.
  24. Not making you part of any cool projects. Not making you part of the team.
  25. Constantly manipulating your pay. For instance: you working on call but don't want to pay you mileage and offer you the full hourly rate. Not paying the overtime that you technically earned and deserved.
  26. Someone that does not let you speak and interrupt you constantly.

Those are a list of signs, you are in the wrong place, and you dealing with a bully.

In 40 years of banking I don’t ever recall a time when there wasn’t “workplace bullying” and I’m in ALL SEVEN categories where bullying is considered to be appropriate, so grow some stones. I’ve just revealed one of my seven sins... sorry people. I still exist and I still carry you.

@1agy why doesn't your team organize and contact HR as a group or alternatively, if you are in Charlotte, I suspect the Charlotte Observer would love to tell your story. I just saw the NTY article sited a lawsuit by an employee put on paid leave for raising her hand - she has thousands of pages of proof of wrong doing and I am looking forward to see whose head in PP's group roles first! Sadly, it will properly result in more sanctions we rank and file will pay the price while Chainsaw and his white man band continue to take home the big bucks.

Sounds sadly like DMI, exhaustive working for this regime. Condescending and nasty Management well known yet constantly ignored. Candor not allowed, escalation...a dead end street

So sorry to hear about bullying in this wonderful company. This really saddens us to hear this. In Meetings and Events we listen to everyone’s opinions non-judgmentally and respectfully. When there are great or unusual suggestions we all travel jointly to experience the event and to take advantage of the learning. We believe that there are no stupid suggestions, except for the ones that are voiced.

I was heavily bullied for over a year because I was moving our team to align with the enterprise documents and processes as well as trying to get the team to complete all of the required CR and security processes. I was also heavily bullied for trying to move our team to Agile. I just kept smiling, being polite and kept making sure we weren't on any negative reporting that the other teams and our leadership would be held accountable for or be on notice about. Up until 3 months ago this team said agile was a joke and that no one in capital markets took leadership seriously and it was a joke for them to go to agile. I'm still here and finally getting the team to align. Most of these problems were because we had a new manager who was moved to our team and he hated agile and liked to cut any corner he could even if it put the company at serious risk. What a nightmare. The ratings really don't mean much and aren't really reflective of a persons work, more reflective of the managers personal objectives.

Good thing that we have Charlie Scharf, a selfless moral man of great character and a proponent of The Golden Rule, to set a wonderful example of transformative yet humble leadership from the top down.

He’s so very very different from our prior CEOs. When you really stop and think about it, it is an unproven yet brilliant strategy on our Board’s part to turn over the transformation of our troubled bank to the only person who would accept the job. And then to stick with that decision no matter what happens. Truly groundbreaking.
It’s truly groundbreaking. I just know he will be “the one”.

Haha raising your hand are Wells is a HUGE joke! I worked in a branch that was being run by our managers best friend who was a banker. Our “service manager” sat back while her banker buddy tormented the whole branch! She belittled every employee and customer. I felt as if everyday I was living through a mean girls remake. Sadly almost every single employee raised their hand and NOTHING was done. They ended up closing our branch, and the service manager was one of the first people to find employment elsewhere. They rewarded us by actually putting that awful banker in charge for our last 2 weeks! I will NEVER look at Wells the same! They have no care for employees and their wellbeing. So thankful I never have to work with either of those people again.

You must be in Supply Chain! That management team is notorious for bullying people, making comments about individuals religion and discussing peoples personal issues with anyone that will listen to make the workplace toxic and force people to leave. All HR has to do is look at the attrition rates of worker bee's. Management team has remained the same for almost 10 years now,

So sad, as many great people have been forced out because they don't fit or comply the good ole boy culture.....

@1gek+17ImKqkF, you are right i am running into the same thing in the group i am in . I am smarter and I am threatening their kingdom. So they are doing anything they can to get me fired. Manager is no help just ignore it. Too bad the company cant hire people with adequate skillset versus people bringing the company down. If wells fargo doesnt make it, these people will be on unemployment for life since they lack the skillsets.

@1eqc So true. We called FT, JH, MA, etc. the Witches of Eastwick. How they are all still at WF is beyond me.

Stirring the pot (cauldron), trying to get people fired,... so much scheming and not inclusive at all. Anyone that threatened their kingdom in any way was bullied.

What is wrong with WF that it keeps vipers like that around? They are part of the toxic culture. The head-scratching "gift" that keeps on giving.

We had a leader in WRSI who was a nightmare. She took leave and is now horrifyingly back in a different group. I can't believe they let her come back and didnt terminate her. The bad ones keep getting moved around and are making way too much money, while continuing to be a risk for the company. (All her minions were equally vindictive and unprofessional – they only care about how they look.)

WF needs to rid itself of this bullying and toxicity.

Many of us know how you feel. We have been bullied by our female boss In MMB for many years. She is extremely manipulative and makes job and career promises to people so they don’t tell on her. Everyone is afraid of raising their hand on her unethical tactics because they saw her retaliate hard on folks in the past when anyone tried to raise their hand. Her seven figure job and protection from HR is known by us all. We have unqualified middle managers put in place by her that are all her yes-men. It’s a mess as upper management has no idea what scary stuff she does to get her way and make herself look good.
